That's cheered me up...thanks mjj! biggrin.png

That should be the decider....but I am sure we'll drop other points.

Depressing really.

You never know. We have been on the wrong side of two poor decisions at stamford bridge and are owed something as it were. Remember when we also had to beat City away. We won and outplayed them. Yes we need to be at full strength, bar Sandro and Kaboul ofcourse but its not beyond the rhelm of possibility. Mindyou Benitez whilst not appreciated by their moronic fans is a very astute manager and tactically astute and he will make it a big ask.

I'd love to knock them out of the top four. I wonder if Mourinho would be quite as happy to manage a team that wasn't in the CL

Dodgy decisions such as the goons have been getting would be a help.

Yes we are owed a few dodgy ones are we not!.

Might i also remind everyone we haven't been awarded a single premier league penalty all season. This final run in we be a nice opportunity to get of them too.biggrin.png

That's an amazing stat stato biggrin.png

I still feel you will fall short but if we do you a favour and you do yourself one then you never know....would much rather Bale stay in the Premier League.

Well it would be an amazing stat to a Utd supporter!! Mindyou, judging by the way we took our penalties against Basle in the shoot out its not a stat that has hindered us muchbiggrin.png

This weekend maybe less about form and more about psychology.

Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal will be desperately trying for 3 points. Man U, Qpr and Southampton have little to play for. The question is will the latter 3 play better without the pressures or will they just not have the desire?

Southampton have little to play for? 7 points above Wigan with 3 games to play (4 for Wigan)?

They are not safe yet. Whether they are good enough to win is another story.

I wonder what Harrys psychology was all about when he told the press that his team are cr@p and wouldnt get them out of the Championship except thru relegation!

No need to work hard to impress him in response - he clearly will not be sticking around and if he does he also said that hell be sacking many of them.

This should be the easiest of our three remaining matches. By my reckoning we will be in control of our own destiny so far as qualification is concerned if we win and Chelsea dont win today.

Momentum is the key for Chelsea. After the last few games we have looked lethargic. Good for spells but sleeping for other parts.

Villa will be our 67th game I think and if we lose or draw I feel it will knock the wind out of our sails for the next 2 games. A win and we will be buoyed for the final. Villa will be no easy task though, 10 points out of 18 and looking to guarantee epl footy.

Agreed with that. I'm amazed at how effective Chelsea has been recently, given all the games, turmoil, etc. I keep waiting for them to give up the ghost.

Well barring Spurs winning each game 10 nil and Chelsea losing to Everton there is just one spot left. No easy games left, but after the FA cup I think Arsenal will be in for the harder game. It will be interesting to see if AVB has instilled the belief in the Spurs team for the last two games.

As things stand with about 5 minutes left of key relegation battles*, Wigan will be well up against it. They would have to win at the Emirates to stand a chance on the last day. Even if Newcastle and Sunderland are safe after the Arsenal game on Tuesday there is still bragging rights in the North East to fight for (if you can call "we were <deleted> awful but Sunderland/Newcastle were worse" bragging).

I'd say it is still too close to call. However I do not believe we will lose to Wigan. Yes, they must play like tigers to have a poor chance to save themselves (realistically Villa would be their main target with Sunderland next, if they do win). Yes they have players with the technical ability to beat Arsenal on an Arsenal off day. But I reckon they'll be shagged out by half time - anyone think they are still not partying hard tonight?

*Now confirmed as final scores.

Anything other than a win for Wigan will send them down, so no parking of the bus - which is nice.
