mostly just the momentum of earlier in the season has run out. we were battering teams in the first half hour from august to november, just steamrollering teams. that impetus has run out, players look leggy and in need of a break, and we haven't the squad depth to rotate them. henderson provides more leadership than he gets credit for so he's a big out. matip provides coolness at the back and we've missed that. coutinho obviously brings quality but the danger is now that we look to pass to him all the time just 'cos he's back.

like bob i'm worried about sunday. we look fragile just at the wrong time and just as united are looking like a decent side again. have a horrible feeling this could be where the wheels really come off the season and we're left analyzing why we didn't sign 2 or 3 or 4 extra players in the summer to give us the numbers to be able to rest players and rotate them without having to resort to the kids or see a massive drop in overall quality. still FSG made a profit in the summer transfer window didn't they, gawd love 'em.

I've not been back for 12 years, but still love the place.

I noticed on a few threads that we seemed to think alike a bit, didn't realise we were from the same place. North-ender me. You??

Difference is I can take it and give it pal and no I don't care if you support the same team as me (not you). if I disagree I disagree and I never needed anyone to hold my hand son. Unlike cough cough.

This talk of needing to be born in the city is not exactly the MO a city fan should. be striving for either, your team is actually trying to go global and guess what genius it ain't gate receipts which got your P/L in the black.

I think most of them on here were born outside the city, but that is not difficult seeing as the population is something like 40% less than it once was.

i worked in London on and off for about 8 years, didn't have any problems with people and thought it was a great place. I always like going back to Liverpool but would not be so keen to live there again. Not really lived there for over 30 years or visited for 5 The way the GBP is going/has gone never say never.

No, office man all my life.

I used to go in the player's lounge every week, I was good friends with 2 reserves, Mike Hooper and Nicky Tanner.

I wasn't prying by the way, I know an ex-merch "lad" from Garston who comes here regular I was just curious if you were he.

Don't want to be hi-jacking their thread, I am not even a kopite. Speak to you anon.

If I had known that nobody was coming on here for over 24 hours i would have added the following:-

I think Garston fellers are very, very lucky. (Well those of mature years anyway) Everywhere they go in the UK or in the world they think the ale is brilliant. They only have Greenall Whitleys to compare it to and Greenalls was absolute sh..e. Well lets be polite it was an acquired taste. But they are due a bit of pleasure, growing up it was either Speke kicking their <deleted> or the Dingle. So Speke and Dingle lads told me anyway.

OK you can have your thread back again. And yes I've had a few.

Sorry about that.

Is a/r/s/e/s acceptable.

gutted not to win that. their goal was offside, rooney should have been sent off and the ref was too lenient throughout. they are so alehouse, mourinho a master tactician my hole. man's a charlatan.

oh well, point gained i guess rather than two dropped. great to have henderson and coutinho back.

It did seem like every time a United player was beaten to a ball and fell over they got a free kick and they defo should have had a few more cards than they got.

Throw in an offside goal and Gini's 2 clear, chances it does feel a bit like 2 points dropped.

That said, I'd have taken a point before the match.

And old Jose's last resort tactic of pump it long to the big men paid off in the end. Luckily for him.

At least we looked better than those cup matches.

Migs is on fire, Phil's back, bring on the Chavs

Personally, i was happy with the point (and would have been yesterday too). Why you have changed a decision about a game because of an opinion by a supporter about  a ref's decision is beyond me though. This happens every game and has nothing to do with my opinion or yours. There were several bad decisions, including Rooney not getting sanctioned for his challenge while Lovren got a yellow, and  the guy tugging Firminhio back was not punished on his own. However, I thought the game flowed OK and I know that some decisions went our way too, but i still don't understand how somebody's opinion of a ref changes your view of a game... very strange

don't see how pogba on henderson and rooney on milner going unpunished and their equalising goal being offside is sour grapes. it's just observation.

pogba was having a nightmare so the ref.didnt want to make it any worse.

rooney should have been sent off [agreed]

but you missed the liverpool player who went down holding his face as if he had been hit with a bat,but WASNT TOUCHED.

i missed the offside goal, which team was that.

nevermind i look forward to seeing the league cup final.

which liverpool player went down holding his face as if hit with a bat but WASN'T TOUCHED? you sure you don't mean united's snide little get herrera there?

and it isn't the referee's job to encourage pogba into having a good game. he bloody strangled henderson.

Blazing game that....thoroughly enjoyed it and a draw probably a fair result.

Absolutely, best Liverpool side I,ve seen for years (chokes me to admit it though) outran and outfought United.... I thought they had 13 players on the pitch....United,s missed chances nearly cost them again.

Regarding complaints of tackling I suggest our scouse neighbours take a look at Carraghers tackle on Nani at Anfield a few years back :whistling:

Liverpool long ball specialist wingeing  about united playing long balls, we made 200 more passes than you yesterday, yes we resorted to a few long balls to get around you lot parking the bus.

Look at this for long balls this season and you manager blows his top for another manager doing the same, does not matter how you score lads.

And your penalty hand ball  theit needs to be intent Pogba had no idea what he was doing he has lost the plot, if you look closely he thinks he is heading it.

^ That stat suggests we've played 2.5 more 35 yard passes, not that we play a long ball attacking tactic. Obviously we don't, we don't have side built for it, it's simply press and get the ball back.

Also we passed the ball more than any other side so that would affect that stat. Fig.1

We had a weakened side and were expecting that United were going to take it to us, that fact you passed the ball about a bit more just proves you couldn't penetrate our midfield. And most of the passes went amiss Fig.2

Zlatan was largely isolated until Jose decided bring on Bogbrush and lump it forward as he couldn't break us down. Shows how Jose has resorted these tactics against Spurs also, a team that plays similar to LFC. He knows no other way to rescue a point at OT and at LFC. Fig 3

Another interesting stat, the team that apparently parked the bus had 13 shots to your 9.

This game was great for us, just what we needed after those Cup ties. You had your chance, but it appears Jose doesn't know how. Never mind he can spend few 100 million in the summer to make it better
