PATTAYA: -- On Thursday afternoon a daylight burglary occurred on the 2nd floor of a commercial building as the owners wife and cousin unknowingly worked in a shop on the ground floor.

By all accounts the victims were lucky that only 1 Million Baht’s worth of items had been taken from the unsecured building. Police noticed that the lone thief appeared to have dropped valuable items as he left the Udom Daert Taxi Company at the Southern end of Pattaya Third Road and made attempts to remove one item valued at over 100,000 Baht without success.

The owner of the building is Khun Suorn aged 70 who was at the Pattaya-Utapao Airport working, and left his wife, Khuin Janpen aged 48 and her cousin in the shop when the man entered the rear of the premise as seen later on CCTV. The man was wearing a pink baseball cap, black T-Shirt and Blue Jeans and was seen 4 hours earlier with an accomplice checking out the location prior to conducting the burglary.

The man was seen to enter the back door which was unlocked and he then made his way to the second floor and forced open the door to the living area where 300,000 Baht in cash, 12 Buddhist Amulets, diamond rings, gold earrings, gold bracelets, an I Pad and I Phone were taken.
