Would You Put Yourself Up To Be Torn To Shreds?

I like the story about the Oz bilionaire. He was at a casino and some rich American was boasting About how how was worth 10 million dollars?

The guy then said I'll toss you for it and the yank left immediately.

Sent from my GT-I9100T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Kerry, legend.

Many like wise stories about him, pub meals, croupiers tips and such

Legend indeed. I remember when the Australian parliament called him to testify about tax avoidance:

"I am not evading tax in any way, shape or form. Of course, I am minimising my tax. Anybody in this country who does not minimise his tax wants his head read. I can tell you as a government that you are not spending it so well that we should be donating extra."

He then turned it back on them by telling them that they made the laws and he was just following them.

Sorry, itcybum, I was a bit long winded, above, sorry. I went on a bit of a tangent, probably due to my social isolation. But this isn't Twitter on the other hand.

And Essat, I am not 100% sure if you are referring to me with your comment, but if so, I really didn't mean to come off that way. I think most people wouldn't feel too jealous of me, or that I am better than them, since they would have to include a major medical disability in their life, if they wanted to change places with me. And those kind of problems don't really make one full of arrogance and self-confidence. In fact they kind of make you a social outcast for one thing, among many other negative pyschological issues.

Maybe I sometimes just try to look at the best side that I can in my circumstances. I don't really like living in Thailand anymore, but tried to make a bad situation, as positive as I could, at the time that I came to live here. And I would love to be back in my own country. My diligent savings, and thanks to Obamacare, I might be able to make that move back happen quicker than I had originally hoped...but I am making a lot of sacrifices in my current life in order to do that . I seriously doubt that any but the most broke, desperate and sick expats here would prefer my life with all it entails.

But anyway, so sorry if I came off in any ways you are suggesting. And thanks to the above poster rawhod, who boiled down the more important points.

A lot of the threads remind me of reading the Penthouse Forum when I was a wee whacker lad.

At first, they're fascinating, to think that people actually write in about their "experiences". (Not to mention that people actually do that stuff) But after reading a hundred or so, it becomes apparent that the writing style is a little too consistent....

If you're sitting behind an anonymous account, tossing out a fictitious persona that claims to have gotten rich by inventing rubber bands, why not "put yourself up to be torn to threads"? You get to rag on others as much as they rag on you - or more accurately, on Dash Riprock, who has more money than God and a winkie and infinite wisdom to go with it- and the TV hit counter keeps spinning.

It's a win-win-win. Especially on a boring day.

what the hell are you on about ?

First Penthouse Forum story I read as a lad was interesting. The hundredth one read a lot like all the rest. Kind of like the flame wars on this thread and the thousands of posts on hundred other threads just like it. Translation- it gets old and stale.

If you don't know who Dash Riprock was, you won't get the rest of the point.

As for me, I have never read Penthouse "anything" so have no idea really ...I can just guess, but I thought those stories might be about sexual conquest, sexual weirdness, or something ....something sexual ...did they have something to do with money/expats? LIving in other countries ...I guess I am struggling to see what that has in common with this thread. I guess I am "man out" here.

I don't understand, really, why people like Homeownershp, lives in Thailand. If I was him, I would move to many other places, I could list 100 places better than Thaialnd, if money wasn't an object. Obviously, he must feel some attaction to here, that I cannot understand, and I would guess he will MOVE somewhere better, eventually, after he learns more about Thailand. But Thailand will be some kind of good education for him, in both positive and negative ways, and he will probably learn better what he really appreciates in life, and he should have the money to afford an appropriate change. Lucky him, and I am sure many of us wish we had the same choices.

Very easy to understand.

The answer is cheap sex with young and pretty women who pretend you are their boyfriend.

Cambodia has cheap sex, but not a comfortable place to live, no infrastructure.

The Philippines also has cheap sex, but it's more dangerous.

South America has cheap sex but extremely dangerous.

Mexico has cheap sex but drug lord shoot-outs on every street corner.

I bet you can't name one place other than Thailand for cheap sex and zero personal exposure to serious crime.

If you still don't understand, let me give you a personal example.

A $25 Thai hooker can pretend to like and love me more in one night, than the woman I married and had children with in America for 20 years.

You all feel free to pull me to shreds!

Hi AnotherOneAmerican,

I think we are almost neighbors, and I think I alway agree with your posts. But in this case, Homeownership, claims to be married to a farang, and since I think they are both pretty young people, maybe they haven't hit the shits that marriage can be ...yet? I realize HE could be here for that, and SHE doesn't know it, but somehow I don't get that feeling. But then again, I didn't get that feeling from my husband, and he was a massive cheater, so maybe I am just an idiot who can't learn new lessons, no matter how hard I try???

Yes, and as far as danger, that is the main reason I haven't left Thailand yet ...other than I "own" a house, and some things that aren't easy to get rid of instantly ...but I think I would LOVE Mexico or SA, for some reasons, I still can't get with the idea that I have to feel like I might get robbed every time I go the ATM, or get an "express kidnapping" . That would really piss me off, to have to fork over a large payment, and the fear in day-to-day life, has kep tme from moving, until I can just move back to the US ...I guess.

I really am not looking for too much more than I have here, mostly just a decent social life. And good schools. And I wouldn't mind, nice driving, and nice cars that don't cost a huge premium ...not for status, just for safety.

Well you definitely deserve an "A" for brutal honesty. Especially about the $25 hooker.

You are being overcharged. Being serious though, most of what you say is true but do you really think you would have been better off emotionally and financially if you had never got married and spent those two decades going with hookers instead?

Financially, definitely, divorce in America costs big time.

Emotionally, hard to tell, if I hadn't tried it, I wouldn't be able to make a valid comparison.

I must say on the one hand I found the whole Hollywood romance, family, children thing to be disappointing on all levels.

(Watch the movie American Beauty, I was Kevin Spacey and our days had the same 'high point')

On the other hand the Thai hooker thing was beyond my wildest expectations. And sooooo cheap.

I am frankly amazed at the amount of negative, cynical, seemingly jealous responses to people here who claim they have money, to various degrees. And really you don't have to claim you have much money to get a lot of attacks on this forum.

amykat ... are you American as in Born or raised in the USA?

i am assuming that this post refers to homeownership who announced assets of around 19 million sterling.

it is my belief that the man is either crass, ignorant, delusional, lying or any and all combinations of the three.

You mentioned me by name so here is my reply.

Crass, Ignorant, Delusional or Lying. ( I make that 4 not 3) There are 4 combinations. That is why I am a multimillionaire, because I can manage simple things like counting and your making silly mistakes wondering how I did it. Never mind.

One more thing, I think you mean arrogant, not ignorant. What am I ignorant of, your counting prowess.

People who continually make nasty or negative comments are so childish that they are not worth my time even responding to. They are insecure and beneath contempt.

Yes, I was both born and raised there ...but have lived in Europe also. May I ask why this is relevant ...I hope this won't be some platform to attack Americans ...I'm trying to trust you here!
