Google Maps shows a red line running from Phaya Thai BTS to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I assumed that meant there is a Skytrain running between those two points, however I've also come across some info that leads me to believe that section isn't completed. Can someone confirm this for me since I'm making my hotel accommodations based on being close to transportation to the airport? Thanks!

Have you heard of the Airport Link System? It's a train that departs from the airport and arrives at Phaya Thai station where you can take the BTS from.

Is it the first time you are coming to Bangkok?

Actually, the Airport Link departs from the B1 level of the airport. Follow the signs for Public Taxi (ground level) and then go down to B1. There are two lines, an express to Makkasan and a local which terminates at Phaya Thai.

The Skytrain and Airport Link are separate systems, with separate ticketing. Both have Phaya Thai stations, separated by a short walk.

We know that, but that wasn't the question asked. ;)

"We" don't all know that, as shown by Lite Beer saying the ground floor.

That was not the question asked anyway.

The OP asked for information about the completion of the train from the airport. Information was given that it is completed from the airport (ground floor) to Phaya Thai. Since the information given was slightly incorrect, it was corrected by someone else.

Would you rather that incorrect information be left as is and not corrected?

No. I'd rather answer the question only.

Seriously, why bother?!? You didn't even really give any meaningful info....and clearly you are not concerned about giving correct info for new travelers.

For the OP, here is the website for the ARL, http://www.srtet.co.th/en/index.html for more info. Pls note that it is not part of the BTS lines, it is run by the SRT so it requires a separate ticket. (as does the subway, MRT)

Disregard the timetables as they are out of date. Don't take the Express as it is infrequent, take the Cityline (blue) to where ever you need to go. Runs every 20 mins and will cost you max of 45 baht.

This is a map of all the current metro lines to give you clarifity of what exists where, http://www.bts.co.th/customer/en/02-route-current.aspx

If you have any specific queries do feel to ask.

The infantile comments above demonstrate why new people become so frustrated with Thaivisa. I've stopped recommending it to new travelers or residents as a source of information - there are simply too many immature keyboard warriors with nothing better to do than attack from the safety of anonymity.
