I am just surprised that some of you do not already have two personas on TV, and that with two computers you could simultaneously like and dislike yourselves until the cows come home.

"You'd be better with one of our less popular posters, who seem to accrue likes only slowly, to avoid any confusion..."

Heartless and a prime example of Psychopathy at work.

I'd forgotten about the notification, though in the case of the example I was contemplating suggesting, the distress would be reprehensible rather than regrettable.

The reason I suggested a less popular poster was lest someone else like another post at or about the same time, and upset JBrain's measurements of before and after.

Perhaps one has to be a rocket scientist after all to understand this complex system.

JBRAIN QUOTE

Wrong what ?

You know what, give me a like for this post and then remove the like and I will tell you if a like has been accumulated to my current total.

ENDQUOTE

I can't believe that you're still bickering about this, rather than finding out for yourself. There have been plenty of great posts on this thread that you could've checked the posters' total, liked' checked again, unliked, checked again. You'd be better with one of our less popular posters, who seem to accrue likes only slowly, to avoid any confusion...

I don't know what happens to the Likes of deleted posts, though....

SC

EDIT: Apologies for messing up the Quotes. I hope that the above attribution is clear

I just liked and unliked 5 times, did you get 5 likes?

I believe I have just uncovered the cunning plan.

The real reason TB has 5k likes.

I hear JT screaming outrage.

I think he should be stoned in Chiang Mai square.

I just got 21 likes.

Posted

The only reason I mentioned recalling likes is that I was wondering if it is possible to make a pandering comment, and then when one has reaped the likes, there would be the chance to state what one really believes without risking the loss of already tallied likes.

Can you see the advantage of having this software feature?

My observation - the better trolls get the most likes. biggrin.png

A quick run through this thread and it seems that you received the most likes so far biggrin.png

Ok, I get my coat.

Do you think the Skinnerian Gods at ThaiVisa are laughing now?

So many well fed white mice running like crazy in a lab experiment created just for us...

And loving the tokens.

Hahaha... happens all the time on some other forums where the ability to edit the post doesn't expire. Not so easy on here since you only have a short time during which you can edit your post but yes, doable.

Funny as hell when you're doing a bit of trolling, say something outrageous then once your victims have responded foaming at the mouth, change your post to something innocuous. If you do it right, you can makes the respondents look like proper kooks...

i suppose the ultimate question is why would you actually care?

No. If that was the ultimate question, the answer would be 42.

I don't recall saying I cared. I said it was fascinating. Which in hindsight may have been a bit of an overstatement but I find it interesting, nonetheless. That doesn't necessarily mean I give a sh1t who likes who or why.

From BBS's to Compuserve to twitter, slashdot, 4chan and a boatload of tech forums I've always found forum behaviour, especially when they think they're anonymous, interesting. For example, it's usually particularly amusing to go wind up the people who advocate using Gibibytes instead of Gigabytes (to whom I say, awa'nbileyerheid)

The reason I mention Itchybum and Japanese is that every time I read one of his posts, I always say to myself,"ICHIBAN"!

And then I thought, well, if I pander he might share with me one of his likes, which he just stated he received after he asked for them, less than 2 hours ago.

They are certainly both very well liked..

What would they talk about?

Perhaps some reminiscing of their greatest and best Liked posts?

They could take up wrestling, or squash.
