A friend of mine on fbook wrote a comment where she was extremely angry and upset about something- without exactly stating what the problem was.

I wrote her a note asking if she was ok and what was wrong. She said

Is she a romantic interest/fantasy? Do you or did you want to bed her?

My friend is a classy girl and has extremely high integrity; and is a talented chef in Bangkok and works hard in her job. I can totally understand that she must have been insulted. If I had of been with her I obviously would have handled this situation and abused these immature guys.

What does being 'classy' have to do with the issue at hand?

The implication being if the group of foreigners that offered her money, had been 'up to her standards', she would have accepted their invitation?

All things aside, you might want to re-assess the nature of your relationship with this girl first.

As others have pointed out, this is a fake story. Guess some sort of troll

variation. If real, she might have been verbally propositioned, but on the street money never would have been proffered, nor would she have taken it.

Also have to remember that the source was a Facebook page....................

Not sure if FB is breaking new ground with 'Intelligent' software that takes a plausible comment and converts it to fictional novel reading.

I don't know what happened to the OP's lady friend and neither does anyone else here, but something upset her. All we can do is guess from our past experiences. A woman's experiences will be different from a man's.

I agree that what happens in the known hooker areas is likely to be different from every day business areas. A gal that dresses in provocative clothing is likely to draw attention to herself, but that doesn't give men the right to be rude... even if she is a prostitute.

Most of the time the double standards are detrimental to men and advantageous to women.

If a woman were to approach me for sex and offering money, I would not be upset or insulted.

Pattaya, Patong and a few places in Bkk to cater to Farangs mostly and they are not full of Cambodian, Loas and Burmese girls. If anything the girls that come from these countries are the ones that are trafficked to service Thai customers.

I remember getting delayed out of DMK once when an Arab called one of the cabin crew a prostitute for refusing to serve him alcohol before we took off. Not long after, the BiB arrived to escort him off the plane.

It's the only and only time I can remember a spontaneous round of applause and cheering in response to the captain telling us the flight would be delayed while "a passengers bags were offloaded".

If she has objections to being approached as a prostitute, then she should take it up with the Thai government, who for years have allowed the entire world to view it as a whore-house. Not to mention the Thai women who sell themselves in countries across the world. The best thing respectable Thai women can do is not hang out in resorts, clubs, cities, roads, places where there are foreigners. Plenty of towns and roads in Thailand without foreigners.
