muythai2013
she had a right if the story is true. But she is still angry and thinking about it days later, they however are probably banging their 10th woman since that night. she is letting them win as they are not worth a second thought, if she knows she is good, why worry. AnotherOneAmerican
Fake or not it brings to light things that actually happen to woman. More mock outrage, on behalf of a fictional character. Most of your posts are very sensible, this time you've lose it big time. For every respectable Thai women, propositioned by a drunk foreigner in the street. There are 10 respectable male foreigners, propositioned by Thai hookers in the street. It happens to many people in Thailand (attractive female or man with money). DiNiro
Fake or not it brings to light things that actually happen to woman. How is a man supposed to get some gap if he is not out there making offers?
kannot
I'm going to start a rival thread. "I was walking down the street and a Thai ladyboy propositioned me, I don't even look gay" We'll be the judge of how gay you look
varun
A friend of mine on fbook wrote a comment where she was extremely angry and upset about something- without exactly stating what the problem was. I wrote her a note asking if she was ok and what was wrong. She said Why are you so concerned for your 'friend from Facebook' ? Is she a romantic interest/fantasy? Do you or did you want to bed her? My friend is a classy girl and has extremely high integrity; and is a talented chef in Bangkok and works hard in her job. I can totally understand that she must have been insulted. If I had of been with her I obviously would have handled this situation and abused these immature guys. What does being 'classy' have to do with the issue at hand? The implication being if the group of foreigners that offered her money, had been 'up to her standards', she would have accepted their invitation? All things aside, you might want to re-assess the nature of your relationship with this girl first.

chrisinth
As others have pointed out, this is a fake story. Guess some sort of troll variation. If real, she might have been verbally propositioned, but on the street money never would have been proffered, nor would she have taken it. Also have to remember that the source was a Facebook page.................... Not sure if FB is breaking new ground with 'Intelligent' software that takes a plausible comment and converts it to fictional novel reading. That seems to be my experience of reading peoples accounts of what happened anyway....................

It's Not mock outrage; I was talking in generalities what happens to all women everywhere. I don't know what happened to the OP's lady friend and neither does anyone else here, but something upset her. All we can do is guess from our past experiences. A woman's experiences will be different from a man's. I agree that what happens in the known hooker areas is likely to be different from every day business areas. A gal that dresses in provocative clothing is likely to draw attention to herself, but that doesn't give men the right to be rude... even if she is a prostitute. And give me a break about your mock outrage for a man in the Thai bar scene. Like it or not, there are valid double standards for men and women. I don't care what people do for an occupation. I treat everyone with respect until they become abusive themselves.

Most of the time the double standards are detrimental to men and advantageous to women. If a woman were to approach me for sex and offering money, I would not be upset or insulted. Why would I be? If someone were to offer me sexual services for money, I would thank them but gently refuse. Not need for a violent response, feigned indignation or mock outrage. Thanks, but no thanks says it all. Then forget about it. Edited May 27, 2013 by AnotherOneAmerican
Mooner
I'd be just as inclined to aportion blame to the millions of thai women that have and do sell themselves for money and have given this wonderful place it's reputation that it is famous for worldwide. Thai women? Nearly all prostitutes are Cambodian, Laos or Burmese and are here to serve pervert Westerners. Prostitution in Thailand has very little to do with Thais and everything to do with immoral foreigners. Have you never listened to a Thai's opinion on it? Complete and utter nonsense. Every Thai city has a brothel/karaoke establishment which caters to Thai men only. I have Thai friends that visit these places all the time. Pattaya, Patong and a few places in Bkk to cater to Farangs mostly and they are not full of Cambodian, Loas and Burmese girls. If anything the girls that come from these countries are the ones that are trafficked to service Thai customers. Prostitution in Thailand has very little to do with Thais? I dont know even where to start with this one! Who owns all these huge massage buildings in Ratchada? Who's police force turns a blind eye to all these go gos, bars etc?
Chicog
I remember getting delayed out of DMK once when an Arab called one of the cabin crew a prostitute for refusing to serve him alcohol before we took off. Not long after, the BiB arrived to escort him off the plane. It's the only and only time I can remember a spontaneous round of applause and cheering in response to the captain telling us the flight would be delayed while "a passengers bags were offloaded". Popular Post Berkshire
If she has objections to being approached as a prostitute, then she should take it up with the Thai government, who for years have allowed the entire world to view it as a whore-house. Not to mention the Thai women who sell themselves in countries across the world. The best thing respectable Thai women can do is not hang out in resorts, clubs, cities, roads, places where there are foreigners. Plenty of towns and roads in Thailand without foreigners. This, and various other posts in this thread, are some seriously misguided opinions. What you're doing is removing any sort of guilt from the pigs that propositioned this woman. These guys did nothing wrong? Boys will be boys? Treating women like a piece of meat is ok in your book? You can't be serious. This clip is an example of what goes on in Egypt. Whether in Egypt or Thailand, the men involved are creepy perv's. I can't believe you guys would defend the guys in the clip, because they're doing the exact same thing that the OP is talking about. No excuse for it, really. http://edition.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/world/2013/05/24/pkg-sayah-egypt-undercover-harrassment.cnn.html

MrWorldwide
Anyone who feels the men were not rude are either lying or lacking in morals. Have you considered the possibility that the OP is the liar in this sad saga ? The whole 'took the money and threw it in the bin' just doesn't work for me - not with the image of HRH on those notes. How many Thais would do that ? Edited May 27, 2013 by MrWorldwide
MrHammer
This story seems rather unrealistic. There is a saying 'the lady does protest too much'. I honestly can't imagine what imbecile would actually wave money around in public at a Thai girl - on pay or not. Then again, there's always a new low for people to aim for. Personally, OP lost me in the first sentence "my friend from facebook" Actual matter at hand, when people do not pay, they cheap charlies, when they offer to pay, they rude. Just can not win with Thai females. IF there ever was a story like this and it was true, the Thai Female should take it up with her fellow sisters as it is them who commonly use foreigners for money, which would only be natural for foreigner to assume many are the same. DLock
Never happened the way your friend told you. No doubt some pigs made some comments, but they never gave her money and she never threw it in the trash. She embellished it for more effect. No excusing the pigs, but I do not buy the story for a minute.
