You can try to get an extension of stay based on your marriage at immigration.

Being married to a Thai national you must show 400,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand for at least 2 months when you apply. The money must be in an account in your name only.

You should be able to change your extension from education to one based upon marriage without a problem. The police order only requires a non immigrant visa entry.

But some immigration offices wrongly consider the ED visa entry as not applicable for any extension other than education.

From personal experience, if you are on ED extension, you will also need a letter from the school stating that you have concluded (or dropped out from) your studies. This is needed in order to close your ED extension file.

I have been using fixed desposit accounts for my extension at Chaeng Wattana for two years now. No issues..Just don't forget the extra letter from your bank branch confirming the amount. thumbsup.gif

The issue comes when it is not a cash deposit account - banks often offer funds accounts as if they were cash. Unless you can withdraw the full amount in cash on demand it will not normally be accepted.
