Hi boys and girls, Yes my wife is pregnant :D

Happy happy happy. i expect a few problems with registration, because my wife does not have the proper ID card, she is a lovely akha thats why.

Does someone has experiance with this, i would like the child to have my last name, and of course i would like the child to have two nationalities (duch and thai).

Problem is that we cant marry without a proper ID.

Possible to get double nationality, though the details depend on where you're from. Actually it seems the Thai nationality might take the longest, as the mother isn't Thai (with the regular white ID card.. She has yellow I presume?)

Time to get in touch with your embassy. For some countries you need to formally recognize the child before birth in case you're not legally married. Ask.

And..... CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D Still a long way to go though. :o

Cheers,

Chanchao

Hi I don't know about these things really but if you get stuck I suggest you contact a Hilltribe 'help' group - I guess you couls find it on the Net.

My sone is registered as British but his father hates me for leaving him so he won't sign his Thai papers!!!!!

Best of luck Erq
