Please US Consulate....Those hours are not accommodating to working folks and the location is inconvenient as it could possibly be to anyone outside Patong. Suppose security is a factor in location but why not provide a full day ?

Please consider from it's over two hours traveling RT, and that's about 2000 baht in a taxi.

(Oh, but you'll have to pay them to wait ..)

I doubt they read TV. The only other places the out reach has been held that I can remember on Phuket is at the Hilton in Karon and the Metropole in Phuket Town. And they have always been 8 AM until noon. I think they do prison visits and other duties in the afternoon. But you could make a suggestion to them. A suggestion of mine came about. I asked why they could return a passport renewal when done at the Embassy by mail, but not from the out reach? They made it happen, now you can pre pay to have it returned by mail at the out reach.

I believe the only Embassy in Thailand that has a Consulate Out Reach Program is the US Embassy as they have only one Consulate here in Thailand which is in Chang Mai.

That maybe so, but newer members would not know that, it is easy to put in the topic which consulate.

it is the same as in the Forum about visas to other countries, you are asked to put which country you are going to in the header to get better assistance, and also to stop misinformation being passed.

Ladies and Gentlemen.... don't complain too much.... they may well cancel these visits and then you're back into the realm of the others who live here.

Mind you.... that might happen anyway with the chap at the top cutting budgets.

They increased the price of all of the American Citizen Services a lot, a couple of years ago to cover the costs of the Out Reach and other Consular services. But yes, we are lucky to have it! Much better than a trip to BKK!

where are u coming form Phang Nga?

you can get from sarsin birdge to the Le merdian in less than an hour

Personally i think its fine choice for locations and better than karon an free Water :-)

The water was empty by 10 AM when I went last time. Hopefully I won't have to go this time as I got my earnings statement when they where here in March. But then there was some talk about a change in how long an earnings certificate was going to be valid for. The last I had read, they are good for 6 months, rather than the 15 days the Immigration Department tried changing it to recently, which brought a protest from the US Embassy.
