June 14, 201313 yr I googled thailand fertiliser subsidies and this was the very first entry: Does this help? Expert enough to know 'the money' did not go direct to the farmers.......it went to the fertiliser outlets..if you bought fertiliser as a farmer you paid last years price.......if you couldn't afford fertiliser you sold your rice to the middlemen and millers at whatever they chose to give, no help for you, and guess what the middlemen and the millers still made money....do you think they loved Abhisit that much the waved their profitI mean what sort of statement further up the thread"I don't know much about the Dems rice scheme but I was under the impression that the money went directly to the farmers."Now where did you get that impression...on Tvisa perhaps I mean what sort of statement further up the thread"I don't know much about the Dems rice scheme but I was under the impression that the money went directly to the farmers."Now where did you get that impression...on Tvisa perhapsI would call that an honest statement. I don't think I can explain it in a more simple way for you to understand.Yes I did see some posts on here about it although I think I saw it elsewhere as well. Thaivisa is also where I'm reading your comment of course. Should I perhaps treat your post with suspicion?I'm off out right now but when I get back I'll certainly try to find some more information about the Dems rice scheme and post again.Be sure to check back. Well I've checked as much as I can and although I've found conflicting reports regarding the Dem's price guarantee scheme I can't find anything about fertiliser subsidy of the type you mention. It seems odd that the only person who knows about this is you.I'm including links to some of the sites I looked at. These give differing views on parts of both schemes so I don't know quite what to make of it.If there are any sites dealing with subsidised fertiliser I'd love to see them. I'm sure if this scheme existed there would be some record of it.http://www.bday.net/rice-price-guarantee-scheme/http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2011/08/01/business/Farmers-prefer-Democrat-style-income-guarantee-sch-30161594.htmlhttp://oryzamarket.com/Rice-News/12942.htmlhttp://isaanrecord.com/2011/10/07/yinglucks-rice-policy-discourages-local-corruption-farmers-say/ The Thailand government will spend 3.5 billion baht to subsidise fertiliser prices for farmers while at the same time approving increases in fertiliser prices. The subsidised fertiliser will be available to growers of rice, maize and tapioca who are participating in the government's crop price insurance programme. Farmers are required to register with Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives later this month to join the programme and obtain documents to show fertiliser vendors. The bank will suggest appropriate fertiliser formulas for each farm type. The government will also allow fertiliser companies to increase prices under the supervision of Internal Trade Department. Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said farmers could buy fertilisers by using cash or they could borrow from from BAAC at 7 per cent annual interest.Commerce Minister Porntiva Nakasai said the new prices would be fixed for three months as the government already put in place the subsidy. June 15, 201313 yr Is this shifting the blame?Surely you already knew that it has always been the Dems that were manageing the megga heists (called corruption) against the Thai people. The hope is that PTP can prevent polititians of all persuasions from stealing money from the people. A party headed by a fugitive corrupt convicted criminal, openly flouting laws and raiding the coffers on a massive scale, appointing top positions based on nepotism, - how likely is it, do you think that they are going to stop the stealing of tax payers money? Are you serious or having a laugh ????????

Well apart from the names of the personnel involved somewhat giving the game away I did add a link, not my problem that the editing facility on here is a joke. http://www.thecropsite.com/news/8227/fertiliser-subsidy-and-price-increase-approved It strangely appears at the end of your post complaining about the lack of a link But as you're quoting the date of the article at me you must have found the link somewhere Failing that there is the time honoured way of c and p a phrase or two and using a search engine, then perhaps you could be bothered reading it and answering your own question, only this time correctly.

It's always good to provide a link when you cut and paste a section of article, just so others can see that it's not actually relevant and is taken out of context. Seeing as you didn't provide a link, I did search and provided one.
