Democrats seek support for Cabinet impeachment over water project

BANGKOK: -- The Democrat Party is gathering MPs' signatures for an impeachment motion against the Cabinet for its handling of the Bt350-billion water-management and flood-prevention projects.

Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said the motion could start as soon as the Democrats got the official backing of 120 MPs.

"We have prepared all the documents as to why all Cabinet members should be impeached," he said.

The Cabinet this week approved the choices of the Water and Flood Management Commission of contractors to undertake the expensive projects. According to Abhisit, the Cabinet has violated both the Constitution's stipulation about public participation and the law against collusion on public contract tendering.

The opposition leader urged people to exercise their rights to prevent damage from the Cabinet's move.

The water-management and flood-prevention project will be financed by massive loans.

Well I like the idea but I think Bangkok will be shut down by a blizzard before the cabinet is impeached.

Mind you they did get a tongue lashing from Yingluck. But not over water it was about rice. Seems they didn't know that they had put the price of rice to high. I guess it was news to her as she was to busy traveling, shopping and Photo Ops to notice little details like that. That was her brother and his appointees job.
