BANGKOK, Jun 22 – A guiding principle to stop violence in Thailand’s Muslim pre-dominant southern provinces during the holy month of Ramadan will be submitted to Thai security authorities through Malaysia next Wednesday, according to a senior Thai official.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence Gen Nipat Thonglek said leaders of the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) militant group promised to hand over the plan to the Malaysian facilitator to ensure its promise to stop attacks in the deep South during the holy fasting month from July 9 to August 7.

Meanwhile, senior officials of the Centre to Mobilise Policy and Strategy to Solve Problems in the Southern Border Provinces will meet to map out preparations for Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung’s visit to the troubled region next weekend.

He said the meeting will also discuss budget allocation for 1,700 policemen who will be dispatched to the South.

Mr Chalerm insisted that peace talks with Muslim militants will continue, Gen Nipat said, referring to an earlier statement by Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha that the peace dialogues should end if southern insurgents fail to keep their promise of non-violence during Ramadan. (MCOT online news)

This is a good idea, because a good muslin must fast during day light hours of Ramadan. There for he would be to weak to stage unrest. Lets give them to rest and recuperate and gather their strength. This will also give them time to replenish their supplies and move in more cadre. ph34r.pngph34r.png

Tokenism meets the feel good feeling, more talk, now they have eleven months to blow the shi!ter out of the south, good management skills at its best, agree with the enemy bah.gif

back to fighting after ramadam then?

So what if they want a peaceful Ramadan? That is entirely up to them.

Can the Thai side demand a peaceful 12 months?

Great diplomacy, bend over backwards so far as to kiss your own ass goodbye.

It will give them time to regroup, plan more bombings and so on. obvious tactic.

Well two things

1 Is August 7 going to be opening season 2013 for terrorism.sad.png

2 The BRN are not speaking for the active militant groups.cheesy.gif

Personally I think that if they are serious as to this being a solution they are really insulting the intelligence of any one they offer it to.wai2.gif

So nice of them to stop killing innocent people during their holy month. Do they promise to start up again once the holidays are over?

Not a bad way to teach Thais to respect and love ... Ramadan. laugh.pngclap2.gif

Than they will have 11 months to kill another 1000 people.

Eventually Thais will be waiting for Ramadan each year just like any good Muslim must.
