Where to buy inexpensive paint for Pattaya orphanage project?

I'm coordinating a big paint job of the rec. room opp. the baby room with about selected 35 kids. I don't need fancy pantsy paints/brushes, just a few rollers and smaller brushes.

Those in the know, where could I buy paints/brushes inexpensively please? I have a big heart but a small budget.

Thank you.

Any Thai hardware store that sells paint. Cheap brushes run about 20 baht. I've forgotten the price of rollers, but they aren' t expensive.

Thais don't bother cleaning them, because they're so cheap.

Go to tesco lotus, that's where the Thais go, it'll be cheap there, if you want any painting tips ask me, I'm a painter/decorator.

Thank you. 35 kids. How many rollers and how many brushes? What else do we need? Trying to determine job designations aside from painting.

Homepro upstairs by BIGC extra Pattaya klang sell Longlife Brand paint. If you buy the big tubs it is the cheapest and best quality i have seen or used in Thailand.

If you want to buy paint no hardware store can beat the price of specialised paint wholesalers. There are several paint whole sale along sukhumvith in Naklua.

If you want a a no brandname, there is a wholesale when you come from Naklua direction Pattaya about 100 meters past the soi that leads to Crocodile farm that sells the unknown brands.Almost opposite the Maxxis tire store.

An other suggestion would be to contact the paint companies in Bangkok directly and explain your project, if you're lucky they might deliver at cost price and that way you can have a quality paint at a price little over a cheap paint that comes off after a year.

Could any charities donate? What about asking homepro if they'd donate and you could then get them some positive advertising in the Pattaya mail? Good luck

With a little co-ordination you could get paint cheaper (free) - as a charitable donation - especially for some project like yours and a contact in the newspapers. Obviously that would depend if you have Thai language skills or someone releatively fluent in Thai / English.

There are companies that thrive on that sort of publicity - Mittyon Pattaya (sp) - have big adverts all over Pattaya for their donations made.

what about a paint drive on TV?

i have numerous cans of paint left over from redecorating

i would be happy to bring them to a local collecting point

if you weren't over concerned about colors then this might be an answer for you

So instead of a description: a big paint job of the rec. room opp. the baby room with about selected 35 kids you could try:

- colors needed?

- approx. m2 per color (calculate 2 coats)

- primer needed?

- gloss, semi-gloss, no gloss?

- only emmulsion/latex or also acrylic (semi) gloss

- think of auxiliary materials (masking tape, plastic planes, sanding paper)

If you can come up with an amount needed, some one might say......"no problem!! Let's get the materials".
