Popular Post poooket
100 million Baht whisked away in the flash of a eye after the police, 'concluded that Warissanon's wife Sakulrat Suwansukkho, 32, had fled with the rest of the cash'. Truly amazing presence of mind and meticulous coordination by the distraught wife and her friends to get this huge amount of money into 6 bags/ backpacks like that and drive off into the distance. And while we are at it, how did Thailand's finest work out that particular sum so quickly and so accurately? To be fair, maybe the wounded suspect gave them that figure, but... I hope the child has a decent chance in life. Questions, questions and more questions. They just got the article a bit mixed up. Should read, police ran away with the 100 mil but left 2.3 behind to make it look good.

deecee10
How do the police know that 100 mill baht is missing? Perhaps they counted it first.
Chris Lawrence
How do they know there is $b100 m in cash? Deal gone wrong again? That amount of money makes the wife very exposed to being preyed on. Do you think more than 2.3m was recovered?
Bluespunk
I wonder where she went with all that "lolly"? The Netherlands?
Bluespunk
This is the woman who they said rather prematurely yesterday, 'Oh the Mother can come and collect the child without any fear as she has not been involved in any crime' !! Thailand, Hub of Sherlocks. Poor kid, abandoned for a sack of money! Or grandma takes the kid out of family loyalty. Two weeks later gives watching BIB the slip (or a fat envelope) and mysteriously vanishes. Edited August 2, 2013 by Bluespunk
unanimosity
She ran with the money but left the 4 month kid,ah,the amulet she is wearing will absolve any evil. Yes, along with a temple merit donation as insurance, and perhaps a trip out of Siam on a Gulfstream if the temple is in Si Sa Ket. Thailand, Hub of Sherlocks. Poor kid, abandoned for a sack of money! Well I had a hard time believing they were willing to give the kid back to a mother who allowed the kid to be taken on a drug deal in the first place Now she has run away with 100,000,000 baht of drug money and they say "Pongsapat is calling on Sakulrat to surrender and be with her four-month-old son, who was found near Warissanon's body" So are they going to put the baby in jail with the mother or just ignore the mothers part in it all? newermonkey
She should make her way over to the States where she could hook up with someone else who has the same hobby of dealing in drugs and running off with the lolly.

boomerangutang
Whatever the circumstances in this case, it would appear that at last the BIB have broken one of the 'bigs' of the drug scene rather than the apprehension of pathetic 'mules' at BKK airport. Or cut competition..... :-) Regarding the wife, for the money hunt, GAME ON !!!!! How about.....looking in Cambodia, seems to be the favorite place for Thais on the run. St. Moritz, more likely. btw: A million baht in 1,000 baht bills (largest in Thai money) is a block of paper, in inches, about 7" x 7" x 4.5" high. 100 blocks like that would fit in about four moderate sized suitcases or two extra large suitcases, if she got it from a bank, xmas wrapped in yellow tape. Ask Pojaman, Thaksin's ex-wife, she's expert at packing million baht packages in suitcases.

marell
Wow, life can be awfully unfair. Imagine having so much cash that you and your pals can't physically carry it all. It was a nice touch, though, to leave some product and cash behind for the police...who I'm sure reported 100% of what they found. Soi Sauce
Cannot identify major drug dealers, or do anything about them, but watch law enforcement next week. That will show the law being applied when it matters. Drugs only hurt the populace, not those in power; unless some posters remember why Thaksin's 'War on Drugs' started. Who had? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8u90LwP-Ss and someone got upset and killed 2,500 plus innocent people because his son did too many drugs?. /dentifying the real guilty would hurt the nation's image. tetleythedog
<quote> The building's security camera footage showed Sakulrat and two other women leaving the premises with three suitcases and three backpacks.</quote> Reminded me of when Thaksin's wife strolled through airport customs with 30-something very large suitcases stuffed with ....some important things. I'm not saying Pojamin was a drug dealer's wife, but those suitcases (which, of course, went un-inspected by officials) were unlikely to be filled just with shirts and dresses. Police investigators also found Bt2.3 million in cash left in one of the rooms, and concluded that Warissanon's wife Sakulrat Suwansukkho, 32, had fled with the rest of the cash Yeah right. lol Last year, a farang friend had a chunk of money stolen from his north Thailand office. The good news: the cops found the teenage culprits and the loot. The bad news; the cops only returned 10% of the seized money. Of course, the cops had excuses for keeping 90%...... why would she leave 2.3 million? was that the tip?
NanLaew
I'm not sure if the BIB actually cracked this or the Dutch authorities. Maybe it is like the 2 year investigation by the Australian Federal Police into the attempted importation of 250M (AUD) of drugs into Australia. The Thais had no knowledge of it until Fed Pol requested their assistance in the arrests in Thailand. Thailand however took for credit for the investigation and the arrests. I would put my money on this being a Dutch investigation with the assistance of the Thai authorities. Once again a viewpoint that the Thai's are clueless unless they have overseas assistance. So what if it was the Dutch police that instigated this one? So what if the Aussie's had to alert the Thai police? Both the Dutch and Aussie's are crap at making phad thai.
