Drunk, rowdy, abusive...whatever. He is still an old dude, unconscious on the ground and those 3 Thai cowards (is there any other type) still viciously kicked him and could easily have killed him. I assume they worked in the bar and I hope someone gives them a kicking.

Kudos to the guy in the white cap for preventing it from getting worse, and to be fair at a real risk to himself.

It's a salutary lesson in what to expect of you get charged up on drink and decide to take on Thai bouncers. It's got to the point that every time I go out even in a relatively quiet place like Chiang Mai I'm sure to see someone being as aggressive as that.

More fool them.

Amazing, in 15 years here in Chiang Mai I have yet to see my first fight. But then again in 30 years in the UK I never saw a fight either. Looks like I need to get out more.

I have seen some fights here in CM - but only Thai on Thai (several times - often male versus female!) and farang on farang (drunk twenty something tourists punching it out between falling over and swearing breaks). Only ever seen these type of scenes (as in the video) on YouTube clips from "those 3 southern towns".

In the UK I could go to pretty much any fair size town or city on a Friday/Saturday night to see this (London perhaps the least likely - but mainly due to police and street cams)

it is interesting to see some people have the attitude that the guy got what he deserved.

Watch the video posted by Will27. The farang wanted the have another fight after he got up. He was abusive and aggressive. He should be banned from all bars to save himself. And the Thai guys should be prosecuted no doubt. But we all know that won't happen as the bars have paid you know who so they have total immunity.

Try Zoe@Yellow and see how many people the bouncers will escort out over the course of an evening, especially at the weekends. If not that then sit at Jacks Van and have a look around yourself. Where the young farangs congregate aggression follows, it's as simple as that.

Does it always end up in a full blown fight? No, but you'll be shocked at some of the performances.

The last fight I saw @Zoe was a French guy grabbing a Thai girls breast, she set about him big style. Her pal half heartedly fired in to, half hearted because the first girl was doing well enough on her own.

Once the fight was stopped by the bouncers the guy started on them, so the bouncers sorted him out and threw him out.

I don't know why people need to behave like that.

This is not Thailand specific.

The same thing would have happened practically anywhere else in the world.

Don't believe me?

Get on a plane, fly to the country of your choice, show up at a bar in the wee hours of the morning, stand outside and shout "suck my dick" several times at the people inside.

(I'd like to advise you wear a helmet).

seriously, act like that and that what do you expect to happen.

as for the thais, how many times you think those guys have seen the same old shit?

if he had been thai they probably would have killed him

Looks like the guy with a white hat doing the kicking to the head is a Westerner, is that correct?

This does not need to be shared. I don't mind seeing a little fight but a video showing a guys head being bashed in while he is already unconscious is just beyond necessary.

Sadly, in Thailand this is what passes for "fighting". No honor among thugs.

Sadly this happens in every city of uk at weekends, not even mentioning football matches.U dont seem to be very well travelled

Thank god, a guy with brains on here

Most people I know would never kick a man in the head once he is on the ground, never mind unconscious.

Sure, give the guy a few hits, sure knock him out. But to then kick his head into the curb when he is out to it is just pure cowardly and I hope that guy doing the kicking gets his ass handed to him on a plate in the near future.

I don't think the Thai guys were bouncers were they? They looked like customers. Taking on bouncers anywhere isn't a smart idea unless you're sober and very handy.

Old out of condition foreigners need to learn that provoking Thais in a bar is going to get you a kicking. They won't care you're old, out of condition or drunk. "Security staff" and police aren't likely yo intervene as they would in the West.

The whole concept of male Thai "bouncers" in places such as nana, cowboy, walking street or similar places with lots of bar girls makes no sense. Customers will behave stupid, and in most cases the many girls and/or other customers will manage to contain the problem with little or no fighting. If it escalates, the police can be called to stop it.
Once male Thai "bouncers" are involved the situation is likely to turn a lot worse as most of them are more or less crazy, have a lot of pent up anger and are likely to seriously hurt or even kill the drunk tourists. No, not all Thai men are crazy, but the sane ones generally do not work as bouncers!

I bet there would be less serious injuries and deaths in these areas if there were no "bouncers" at all!

As I posted in another thread,

Most foreigners who get a beating, invited it themselves.

I would have been surprised if they didn't do that after he pulled his zip down in a public street.

What happens to willy waggers in your home country?

Don't talk sh1t. Theres a big difference between a bouncer dishing out a few friendlys to put someone on the floor than there is kicking the head of an unconscious body against a curb as hard as possible. I think you'll find in most countries that would be attempted murder.

Thai foreigner hooker bars don't have bouncers, the Thai males are pimps, drug dealers and prostitutes bfs.

If you insult that sort of guy anywhere in the world, you risk sudden death.

I have never had a fight while drunk. I have had a good few while sober over the years, but never while drunk. Even had drunks taking a swing at me, both when sober and not (though not as drunk as them apparently) - in which case a side-step or a block is much more entertaining as they go sprawling under their own steam. I think people that can not handle their drink should not drink - simple as that. If you are likely to start mouthing off and taking swings at groups of guys half you age and three times as fit, then stop drinking before the katoey next to you starts looking like Miss World and you start thinking you are Mike Tyson.

(still no excuse for kicking a man down though! - fair play to the girls that stopped it at that point)

I seem to recall a bouncer in Oz killing a bloke not so long ago?

He totaly had what was coming.

So you think it is TOTALLY acceptable for a <deleted> to have his head kicked against the kerb after he has been knocked out. What a great guy you are. blink.png

I agree a smack in the head would have been deserved but kicking is what is totally unacceptable and the lunatic that did it could easily have killed the guy and should be locked away for a very long time.

You must be one of these fools that took a 2 week holiday in Thailand, and now back home your a Thaivisa.com Thailand expert? All the bars owned the person where the video was shot have uniformed bouncers.

No doubt the cops will have been along to clear the body away without so much as taking his name or interrupting his shift?

Once a fight starts here,no matter what it is about or whom started the fight,In this country live is not very valuable in their eyes. This is what you have to compare to western countries.Ones you in their country you have to understand that, that is the risk you take if you want to live or (die) here. Ok that man maybe deserved a good flogging, but not beaten to the point of death. wai2.gif

Anyone thinking of coming to Thailand needs to try their best to be on their best behaviour. If what happened here is right or wrong is irrelevant, this is what's going to happen if you make Thais angry.

Just staying and socialising in places where there is a lot of farangs is my best advice. I once went out to a bar fairly out of the way that didn't really cater to farangs which was a bad idea in hindsight.

Even if you do stay in the farang orientated areas you still need to make a big effort to be respectful to the Thais.

Gotta agree....pretty much deserved it

stupid, rude guy, but a horrible, shocking video. I've never seen anything like that in real life or on video - talk about kicking someone when they're down. It should act as a warning to tourists about not behaving badly and also that nothing will ever be done by the Thai police.

On the other hand, I have only ever had problems in bars with white people.

Now, I almost never enter a bar if I can see foreigners in it and we all have a nice time.

We need a Thai Fox News Network to spin this like a drone strike campaign or some other fight for freedom oil.

Maybe the guy should have called for a time out or a do over like in kindergarten?

Why in the world do you a lone falang start a fight with thai bouncers in a bar, how stupid do you have to be. Watch another you tube of some clown filming the fake goods in a shop he gets hit but then comes back and bashes the Thai guy. But in the end why take it upon yourself to be the marshal.
