Not certain what you are up to, but as you are new in town --- perhaps Thailand --- you are going to get all sorts of stories. Anyway, I have no idea what "waiting on a crown from Dr. K" means. Too obscure an allusion for me!

Finding a good lawyer anywhere can be a challenge. Some in Thailand try to develop a business dealing with foreigners using facility with the English language as their "come on." Some of them are "ok," some are not. In any case, one should not put too much faith in the listings provided (caveat emptor) on line by various foreign governments. Secondly, many farang are amazingly naive otherwise and quite ignorant of the law in their countries of origin.

My experiences? Both good and bad!

I suppose you are familiar with the Civil and Commercial Code, case law, and the general cultural shadings regarding the application of the law in Thailand.

What services and/or interests do you actually have in all this? And who is "Dr. K"? And what is his crown?

Who and what is "Dr. K. and the crown? Sounds like a James Bond kind of scenario.blink.png alt=blink.png>

Maybe a bit clearer after seeing where the OP posted before.

Dr.K. could be a Doctor for teeth and the Crown is for a tooth. tongue.png

Could it be that Dr K is a drug dealer and that a crown is slang for 100kg or some other measure?

If this is the case, then it sounds like the OP is high on drugs at this very moment.

Judging by some of his previous threads I would guess he is treading on dodgy ground here and could well find himself incarcerated for a long time if he`s not careful and this also applies to those who associate themselves or become involved with him.

Good lawyers are all recruited by the politicians!

For ordinary folks, forget it!

Why is that you can't find a good lawyer for ordinary folks?... no graduate students have ever thought about doing a good thesis on it! Why? You tell me!

A crown is a common word used for putting a cap on a tooth. Obviously since he mentioned DR. that should give a clue that it is a medical procedure at some point. But that is asking a lot from the CM forum.

As for meeting up with people to talk about law. How boring is your life?

I just don't understand why anyone would travel to a foreign country and want to discuss with people about their experiences with lawyers.

Oh, I know why. Because you are going to write something up then use the entire vacation as a tax right off claiming that you did research on international law.

You know the only reason why we need lawyers is because there are lawyers. The only job that I know of that cannibalizes each other.

Thanks Cobra; correct.

Seems like you would have to teach some of these guys how to roll rocks down an incline.

What an idiotic statement. I've lived here 6 years and never heard of "Dr. K" or "Dr. Korakot". Get real dude.

I see nothing wrong with getting a little familiar with how your profession is handled in another country.

He did say

"Foreign lawyer in town"

For the rest of it. It seemed fairly obvious to me.

pretty obvious that the guy is getting a crown for a tooth, and that takes several days unless you want to pay $$$$. Dr. K is likely a Thai dentist with an 18 letter name that the OP nor anyone else knows how to spell. Based on the looks of a lot of Brit's teeth (assuming they have more than one), I can see why they wouldn't know what a crown is. You're lucky you didn't need a "loot cannow." LOL.
