I am on a Type O non-immigrant (Thai Wife) visa and applied last week for a 12 month extension. As per usual, I was given an "under consideration" stamp until the end of the month. Does anyone know when I can begin to use the THB400,000 in my Thai Bank Account, which was used in support of the extension request ?

Do I have to wait until the extension is granted, or can I use the money now ?

As long as you just withdraw living expenses you should be OK, even when queried.

If the whole amount would have been withdrawn, you might get problems.

No, I am only wanting to withdraw living expenses.

whistling.gif I don't think there's is any hard and fast rule.

I would be cautious about withdrawing any money until the approval is granted.

However, if you need it, go ahead.

I seriously doubt they will deny the extension just because you took out a reasonable amount for living expenses for a month.

Be sure to remember you will need to have that same amount in you account next year to renew that extension.

But I'm sure you know that already.
