Visa extenstion how early and can I do 90 report at the same time

Featured Replies

Ok. The details are as follows.

I will be going to immigration at Phuket.

I am currently on an ED Visa. The time line is as follows:

  • visa run to Penang returned on 90 day ED visa
  • extended for 11 months
  • rules changed in Phuket now they no longer have 12 month extension but 1 month under consideration, then 5 month extension. That is 1m + 5m +1m +5m per year.
  • after the above mention 11m extension I received the 1m under consideration stamp and then was given a 5m extension
  • my current 5m extension finishes on 020913 a Monday
  • I am due to do a 90 day report on 100913
  • My understanding is that you can do your 90 report up to 15 days early

My Questions:

  1. What is the earliest day I can apply for my next extension (which will actually be another 1m under consideration stamp)
  2. If I apply for the extension on 290813 Thursday, I should also be able to make my report at the same time ( I don't really want to leave the extension to the last minute, that is why I asked question 1. above) however I may do so if I can make the report at the same time.

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Jai yen yen.

It's in the wrong forum for starters.

Posting your question in the visa forum might have given you more answers.

Extensions can be applied for 30 days before the current permission to stay ends. (0 day reports from 15 days before till 7 days after the due date.

When I get a visa extension my 90 days starts over again.

When I get a visa extension my 90 days starts over again.

Unless you fill out a TM47 they don't.

Extensions don't reset the 90 day clock.

90 days always starts from the day you enter the country, never from the issue date of you visa unless it coincides with your entry stamp date. One often confusing problem is some people who don't look at the report slip think that a 90 day report is an extension. Of course it isn't and it's clearly stated on the report slip.
