Norwegian beaten to death, soi 7 Pattaya

Featured Replies

I read a similar post somewhere on Thaivisa today, but I can't find it anymore.

I can confirm the story that was posted.

A 21 year old Norwegian tourist was beaten to death yesterday or the day before by kathoeys in soi 7.

A witness told me a kathoey from the ladyboy bar in front of happy gogo - this should then be "Nice bar 2" - touched the Norwegian man's penis through his pants, he didn't like it and said "xxxx you" to the kathoey who then began beating the guy.
More kathoeys joined the fight and kicked him using their stiletto heels - eventually they severely injured the man's neck and he began to bleed profusely (jugular artery ??) and died a short time later in the hospital.

I feel no punishment is too harsh for the perpetrators of this horrible crime.

apparently, the murder has been reported in Thai news, but not yet on English language media.

an alternative version says the Norvegian man has been injured by a stiletto heel in his eye.

Tragic at all levels ... whose ever initiated the insult ... the LB's seemed to have the last action ... RIP Scandy Boy.

This place is getting too dangerous. Not a day goes by when we don't here of another violent incident regarding tourists. I think it's time for us to think about leaving. Obviously our safety is not a concern anymore.

10 years ago, i would get a shoulder rub and a cold towel in any bar without requesting it!

Very sad but very true.

Poor guy, so young. RIP

As I have said so many times before, the authorities should remove all ladyboys from tourist areas, just like they remove known gangs of thieves, beggars and other undesirables. The vast majority of them are there to steal from, rob or drug the tourists. And as has been seen so many times before, when they do not get their way, they do not behave like the average bar girl, but instead like the drugged up Thai males they really are.

Can anyone confirm he was Norwegian , no news about him in the Norwegian Thai forums. And if he was alone or with someone at that time.

More good PR for LOS.

I second the idea that katoeys should be removed from tourist areas. The majority of them are junkies with messed up heads.

Such a waste of a young life.

that rates 10/10 on the "bad night on the turps" scale.

RIP Dude.

i'll guess this was down town? i've seen grown up men getting the shit kicked out by them. i guess taking the anti baby pill as a boy does a bit more to you than give you boobs. rest in peace.

Please nobody blame the victim here, OK? w00t.gif

Sad story! RIP. sad.png.pagespeed.ce.5zxzyGiJz0.png

Ladyboys are people, not "things" and maybe if the lad had been a little more secure in his own sexuality and a little less homophobic, he would still be alive. (Assuming the reports of a death are true.)

However, whatever precipitated the confrontation, such violence is inexcusable and one hopes that the suspects are found and prosecuted according to law.

Please could people forward this story to the local papers in their home country, for example the Daily Mail in the UK etc. This violent abuse and murder of foreigners by Thais who act with arrogance and impunity, as if foreigners are sub human, it has to be reported. Thailand has to be shown for what it is and Thais have to be shown for what they are until they learn to be accountable for the actions of their own people.

"Twenty-one year old Norwegian male beaten to death in Pattaya - Soi 7 - by a gang of katoey ladyboys. Apparently the victim suffered a fatal blow to the temple with a stiletto heel. (MiracleThailand/John Le Fevre)"

Anyone know for sure the nationality of the victim? Thanks.

So if a male stranger starts touching your penis and you tell him to **********, then you are homophobic and insecure in your sexuality? In that case I think you will find that 99% of men in the world are homophobic and insecure in their sexuality.

Your post is offensive in the extreme.

To even suggest that the young man contributed to his own demise by being "a little more secure in his own sexuality" is crass stupidity.

He was clearly secure in his own sexuality and told the transexual to "F#@$ off" - that seems very clear to me.

The fact that you obviously support the actions of these pathetic pieces of human garbage, makes you no better than them.

He was murdered for objecting, not 'set about'. wink.png

Apologies, written in haste and not seen any confirmation.

perhaps you shouldnt post that a male is not secure about his sexuality if a low life transexual touches him somewhere they have no business, you have a weird definition of homophobia. PS clearly OMG has become part of the pattaya lowlife mindset.

There are some very unpleasant people posting in this thread. I think there is a big correlation in the change in attitude of Thai people to farangs and the increase in numbers of these aggressive, bigoted and narrow-minded farangs. Such a shame that they are here and not back in farangland where they belong.

Over the decades I've had all sorts of weird and wonderful people in Thailand trying to do things to me that I didnt really fancy, and I have never needed to do anything more than smile and say "no thanks" for it to stop.

I'm sure you have read the stories in the past on this forum about the foreigners that did something the lady didn't fancy in Lucifer Disco and Soi 7, and what the outcome was of that.

If you don't know the stories, I mention only 2 but there are more, I can confirm that it didn't end with a smile and that the lady also wasn't murdered.

This act, however abhorrent and regardless of how angry it makes me....I'm not altogether sure that it is to do with being a foreigner. Perhaps more to do with the lowlife involved.

I have also seen ridiculous Thai on Thai(or at least from the region) violence. The lowlife that struck the blow should be wiped from the face of the earth.

Tell / remind his parents of your, "live and let live" attitude. Should make a great epitaph!!

They ARE, "THINGS"!!! How many more unprovoked pickpocket occurances, random beatings, necklace snatches, safety deposit box thefts, etc, do you need to see, witness, hear about, before your deluded likeness / support of these, "THINGS" will it take for you to understand that you have an an affinity to something that is not normal! I can't remember one decent Thai male or female that trust anyone of the, "THINGS" over the past 13 years! Especially late at night in Pattaya!

A waste of a young life here.

But what hasn't been discussed is the violent way many Thai (and not only ladyboys) react to a 'F$ck You' or 'F$ck Off'.

Many tourists don't know that they are risking their lifes when using these phrases.

Same as showing "the finger" in traffic. Many Thai see red and show a violent reaction.

People have been shot at for showing "the finger".

It is in no way an excuse, but probably this katoey reacted violently to the 'F$uck Off' from the farang and his fellow katoeys just joined in beating the poor guy without knowing what really happened.

Well he was beaten to death!! Savagely beaten after sexual assault. Who's at fault?

My empirical experience has been the only time I have been threaten in Thailand was in Pattaya by a ladyboy as I walked down a soi near where this kid was killed.

Being a straight guy coming from Los Angeles where this is a huge gay population, I can tell you there is a big difference between a average gay man and a Ladyboy IN A BAR IN PATTAYA. I have many coworkers who are gay. They don't grab my willy. In West Hollywood where there are 100,000 gay men, no one gets stomped to death. (unless they pay extra) :)

As a man, if I grabbed a woman's breasts in a bar in Los Angeles, she would say "<deleted> OFF" and get really upset. So it is normal for a person to react negatively to unwanted advances. Male or female. I would not expect the other women in the bar to beat me to death. (that costs extra)

Let hope we can find some understanding here. Straight men don't like having their penises grabbed by gay men. Straight men don't want to be with ladyboys. It can be very upsetting for a straight man to realize the woman he has been flirting with is a man. Ladyboys have unique "issues". Low life bars in Thailand can be very dangerous places. Straight men who are young, have a few beers in them, in a foreign land, surrounded by ladyboys need to learn new survival skills. ZERO CONFRONTATION in bars.

ALL the ladyboys involved in this are now murderers.

Of course if the kid who got killed was gay, then this is even more horrible, as he was just saying I'm not interested in you.

So I think the fair thing is for everyone to acknowledge that there is something different about ladyboys in the BAR scene.
