Computer prices in Pattaya same same Bangkok?

Featured Replies

I'm visiting Pattaya soon (coming from Cambodia). Thought I would buy a tablet while I'm there.

Are the prices and variety of tablets for sale in Pattaya the same as in Bangkok? Or is it worth the trip to Bangkok to buy it at Pantip?

I'm looking for a super-cheap tablet from China, not an iPad or Samsung.

Thanks for any info.

plenty of cheap tablets in Tuk Com but its cheaper in Bangkok

its even cheaper as close as Tuk Com Siracha

too many foreigners here push prices up

expect to pay 10-20% more in Pattaya

Or buy direct from China and have them ship it over.

I just bought a Android smart box for my TV, from Hong Kong, free shipping and no tax paid.

Wow, 100 thb more on a cheap Chinese tablet. so incredibly more expensive and worth the trip to monkey city :-)

You are right, if OP only going to BKK for that, not really worth the trip.

I find that the main problem with Pattaya is the very poor choice available. Why there should be so little choice in such a big town with such a large population of (fairly) well-off residents is quite beyond me.

For whole computers and mobile phones, not so much,

But for accessories or parts, things are a lot cheaper at Pantip in Pratu Nam Bangkok, even for chains like Banana IT or IT City, not just moms and pops store, and I find this to be true when comparing price between stores in Bangkok too, even Pantip in Bang Kapi or IT Mall in Ratchada is priced 5-10% higher than Pantip Pratunam.

But if you value convenience, buy it whereever you can visit, I find going to Pantip Pratu Nam quite a trouble going through all the traffic and having to pay for Parking on top of it all, let alone navigating the maze of the little shops being haggled to buy porn on the way up the myraid levels.

Thanks for the replies. I do have some other things to do in Bangkok, but was thinking about just not doing them to avoid the hassle. But if the selection of tablets is a lot better at Pantip, it might make it worth going there.

What company did you buy from? Do they have a website?

I'm sure there's no such thing as free shipping to Cambodia. You would have to pay a hefty price to receive the package here, no doubt.

Try searching on Ebay, that where I got mine from.

I paid 7 baht yes seven baht when I signed for the box delivered with normal mail right to my house here in Patts from Hong Kong.

I gave the mail man 30 baht and told him to keep the rest, which he politely said many thanks for.

I was looking for this smart tv box in tuk.com but could not find any with quad core and a remote key board, one shop offered to order one from China which I politely declined.
