RoP class upgrades (econ to business), possible now?

Featured Replies

With the removal of the on-line upgrade process (which actually worked) apparently one now has to upgrade by phone.

I've just spent 30 minutes navigating the Thai automated answering system before getting to a hold 'many calls at present' which promptly got cut off.

Is it even possible to get RoP awards upgrade now, it never appeared on the options.

The Thai phone service is terrible... It takes an age to get through and unlike other automated services once we get through to the queue to speak to a person we can't simply turn the phone on loud speaker and get on with our work etc while waiting for a human because we have to press an option every minute or two to stay in the queue and if we don't it cuts us off !...

The system is infuriating....

That said, my Wife got ROP ticket using air-miles over the phone - It just takes a world of patience to handle the queue and ridiculous options system.

I'll answer my own question for the benefit of others.

Yes, you can still get mileage based upgrades, you have to call the RoP customer service line +66 23561111 and navigate their awful automated system, follow the path to book awards flights and you'll eventually get a rep who speaks English and can arrange your upgrade.

I was earlier, but apparently you can do this up until 24 hours before your flight.
