umbanda
I was an English teacher at a Thai Government elementary school.....Thailand public education It is not the worst in the world..but do not send your kids to public schools if you can pay a private school....and...if you can....encourage your kids to learn foreign languages and pay for foreign languages schools for them if you can....Will make a big difference for them..independent of the quality of their basic education... recycler
We go for a good bi-lingual school with native English speaking teachers, but they are not available everywhere.

landslide
Don't leave the schooling to just the Thai school and its teachers. You've got to be involved in your child's education. When younger, make it a game to talk about what they are learning on a daily basis. Encourage reading and comprehension. A school can pnly mean so much to a child's education. The parent's involvement is just as important.
