Car road tax disc?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a car last year and now has come the time I have to buy the road tax disc for a new year.

Does anyone know where I can buy it? At Phuket Department of Land Transport?

Any idea?

Oliver

Yes, you can go to DLT or any of the many places where you have your car checked for the DLT renewal. Car check is not yet applicable for your car, but for probably 100 Baht or so they will get you the sticker. Don't forget that there is a compulsory insurance.

At the Land Transporrt office. Easy enough. You need the registartion book, proof of insurance (there is a tear off part at the bottom of your insurance certificate), and if the car if 7 years or more old you need a test certificate. Go into the transport office, get a queue number, and wait for your number to be displayed. Usually takes me not more than 15 minutes.

If you can't be bothering going yourself there are plenty of agent who will do it for a 100 (or so) baht charge.

For renewal of road tax, its in Building #3 in the Phuket DLT compound.

Do you know any reliable agents in Rawai / Nai harn?

On wiset road heading towards rawai beach about 500 meters before the end of the road on right hand side you will see a small sign that looks

like a gear cog, go up the small road next to it about 50 metres and they will arrange everything for you for a small fee

No reason to travel to phuket town, they even have inspection facillitys if needed

In Rawai coming from the beach just before the Shell museum, same side. Also further down the road just before the Sai Yuan traffic lights the purple building. The first one does testing as well, the second one only registration.

The first one is the same one nedkellylives mentioned.

Does anyone know whether these agents will also do tax/insurance renewals for motorbikes?

If not can anyone suggest a place in the Rawai / Nai Harn area?

Thanks
