BANGKOK: -- In Facebook message, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has claimed to have played a role in tackling police kickbacks.

Thaksin said he recently told national police chief General Adul Saengsingkaew about rampant briberies sought and received by police in tourist destinations like Phuket and Pattaya.

In his reply, Adul said he was already aware of the issue as the prime minister had instructed him to root out corruption.

Taksin must have been reviewing the various travel warning posted by several countries. Maybe he is upset that not enough is going uphill and wants more of a cut. After all, he did not tell him to get rid of the practice itself.

Wonder who is on his payroll at the newspaper which throws out the Thaksin name and some little piddling worthless piece of info about same, on such a frequent basis?

'Thaksin tells police'.

There you have it folks! No ifs, buts or maybes any more........ the man himself has let us know who the real boss is and presumably who is actually working the puppet Tarit at the DSI.

No wonder Mark is taking their charges as seriously as Toss, the Red Bull delinquent.

Great stuff if you like irony. Thaksin has taken corruption to levels undreamed

of by past piggies at the trough. Now he wants to end it ?? Too funny for

words. Sometimes I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone here.

Where the absurd becomes reality.....

He does not want to stop corruption, he just wants to limit the noses at the trough to keep room for him.

Why is a criminal fugitive defacto PM telling the national police chief of Thailand what his job is?

And why is the national police chief taking these orders, as if we didn't know ?

This country is becoming more ridiculous by the minute.

Poor deluded fella is getting desperate. He's no more in the news as much so he needs a stunt like this to show he's still the boss. Pathetic.

Hot on the heels of the emergency supplies handed out in Prachin Buri in his name and in case anyone didn't understand his photo was on every packet and giant ones on the vehicles.

#2: Why is Banrhan suddenly front and centre in the flood photo ops, giving comments and suggestions,

and saying he's going to take over some of the PMs duties, and he's unelected and holds no officially

appointed position?

Strange stuff indeed.

Not end it,

just reinsert himself and clan in the channels of graft he isn't in already.

The master of kickbacks and "donations" (remember that 2-million-baht-cash-in-a-lunchbox-story?) and fugitive criminal telling a police chief to do away with a long established tradition?

What do you call that, "preaching to the choir" or "the pot calling the kettle black"?

Hypocrisy par excellence!

whistling.gif You got it.

He simply wants little sister placeholder to make sure the kickbacks go to him more directly.

Believe it may be her time to make another fact finding trip to Montenegro and visit a couple of banks.

It could be that's the real reason for the foreign trips. to help stash the proceeds. You can hide anything in diplomatic pouches!

That Kuhn T. has no concept of irony,

let alone shame of any sort.

HOW SO??

what is the crime's he has been convicted of?

Is it The Shin Corporation in which Thaksin own a large portion of, he moved his holdings to his servants and driver, then to his kids and to family, this went to court and the court ruled in his favor, which means,,,NO crime...

or are you referring to the shocking crime of repaying the IMF monies borrowed by a previous government before the due date?,,, NO crime there,

or maybe you mean during his time as PM BKK was booming, is that what you mean?

or maybe working with Myanmar's Junta to stop the drug trafficking?,,, is that what you mean?
