You must have missed the story about the Chinese tour group that wanted to take the silverware from a Singapore Airlines flight home and there was some big kerfuffle over it. They said their relatives had done it and told them it was ok!

The Chinese tour groups are unbearable BUT: when my parents worked in hotels in Kenya 30 years ago, life jackets were stolen from planes all the time. The clientele: exclusively Western European....

What's amazing to me is there are over 1.3 billion people in China, one of the older civilizations and this kind of behavior is obviously acceptable in China, I have been to China, but it was over 15 years ago and was guided around (and back then it seemed like ....watched by the Government) so didn't see too much of it other than the occasional spitting and picking of noses.....oh well
