Guys, I bought a new mazda 3 last year from mazda at sukhumvit 65. Along with a few other things i also bought the car insurance from the sales girl for 30k thb.

I asked for the best insurance with any bodywork to be carried out by an official mazda garage. She then told me axa first class insurance would be the best deal for my needs and any damages would be fixed by Mazda.

Unfortunately i got into a very minor accident with a few scratches on the grill and body painting caused by the other party.

Nothing bad about axa itself, the axa rep was on place within 10 minutes and dealt with it very professionally.

However, i received a list with contracted axa garages, the garages look really amateuristic so i didn't want my car to be fixed there.

Went back to mazda at sukhumvit 65 to ask for an explenation and was told axa first class insurance is " อู " so any fixes are done by one of those amateur garages. The girl that sold me the car and insurance doesn't work there anymore and the manager who was so ever friendly before when i paid 820k for the car in cash didn't even bother to call me back. Instead the manager at mazda sukhumvit 65 told the insurance broker to contact me, which explained mazda doesn't want to cover the damages as i requested because the sales girl scammed me. Although, i should have read the insurance paper and never to trust a Thai salesperson. Lesson learned.

Right now i'm seaching for a car insurance that's " ห้าง " so any damages will be repaired by an official mazda garage just like the one at hua mak.

The broker recommended me to go with a few which names i don't remember. Lesson learned i told her i'll do some reading first.

What insurance do you guys recommend me to take? It's not about the price, i just want the best coverage and very importantly - damages repaired by mazda official garage.

Thanks, i'll send them an email.

I actually already have a broker and just like to know which insurances specifically cover my needs.

P.s. Do you work for AA in surance / thaivisa insurance?

OP all the insurance companies will offer an option to have repaired at the manufacturers shop or a nominated shop - it is just a different price.

Your broker should be giving you the different options. I know AXA insure for both (unless Mazda is an issue) as I have just renewed my truck insurance with them - via AA as it happens.

Yeah you were right. I now have the insurance from AXA with dealer repairs - 35.000 THB.

I wonder why are you paying so much? I pay much less than half of that (barely a third actually) for my pickup of similar value.

Very simple, different vehicles have different rates plus different insurance companies offer different services. This is why quoting premiums without knowing the full background information can be misleading.

Still it's a pretty high premium for a Mazda 3. Unless there's been a history of a high mortality rate.

We pay 59,000 baht for a 7,000,000 baht car. Fixed by Mercedes.

Unless there's been a history of a high mortality rate, I would recommend that the OP visit a Thai broker.Perhaps AIS.

I've been quoted from 17.000THB to 35.000THB for 1st class + repair by dealer by different insurance companies.

Axa being the most expensive but with the best coverage imo.

I've also decided to keep the car and see what will happen in the following year. In the meanwhile i'm looking for something better but second hand this time.

@Jerry, what model do you drive and did you buy it new? 57k sounds like a pretty good deal for a 7mil. car. I'm thinking about the basic CLS model but need to do some research on devaluation.
