You can order 32 gig 4G LTE model from the Asus stand at Commart (Queen Sirikit Convention Center). They don't have it in yet but you can reserve them, should arrive in a few days.

A colleague visiting from the U.S. had one which I got to use this past week - had to configure some apps for him. Seemed pretty nice but I'm not a 7" tablet fan myself.

By way of comparison, the Google Play Store in the U.S. seems to be showing three different LTE versions of the Nexus 7 32 GB priced at $349.

1 unlocked, 1 unlocked with an AT&T SIM, and 1 unlocked with a T-Mobile SIM...

So they're showing 1 wifi only version for a lower price, and three LTE versions at $349 U.S.

^ That's a pretty good price, only about 1,000 baht more than if I purchased in the U.S. and brought it here. The uplift was lot more on previous Nexus devices.

I got one, its great. Huge improvement over my first gen Galaxy Tab 10.1. A couple of minor things:

* To get SMS functionality you need to install a third party app, as the tablet does not come with a default SMS application (kind of annoying). You can receive them and they will pop up in the notification bar, but there's no default way to send an SMS or to review them once you've dismissed the alert, unless you go get your own app. Looks like a deliberate software cripple to keep phone companies happy (some widgets complain that the device does not have SMS functionality, which is BS).

* The ASUS brochure says that there is no mike in on the headphone jack and the forums are divided about whether there is or not. There is. I've tested it with a headset and recording app with level meter etc.

That's odd, no Messaging app in GApps for the N7.2? Maybe someone left out the MMS.APK? Doubt it's deliberate, certainly wouldn't make phone companies happy to deny them revenue?

Anyway, some work arounds...assume you are still on 4.3...

Forgot to follow up on this...

Android 4.4 allows the option for consolidating all messaging into Hangouts including SMS.

Go into Settings, Wireless & networks, Default SMS app, where you can choose "Messaging" (classic SMS) or "Hangouts". At least that's how it works with 4.4 on my Nexus 4. I think it may default to Hangouts unless you specify Messaging?

Any news on Nexus 7 2013 edition availability in Thailand?

I've seen the 3G variant, 13,500 MSRP. My sense is that maybe that's the only variant Asus/TH localized? But not sure.
