Selling Gemstones In Thailand

Greetings All

I am working in a remote part of Papua New Guinea, where various minerals are found in abundance. A local guy has approached me with several gemstones which he wants to sell either in PNG or elsewhere. Unfortunately, I know little about gemstones or how to market them . I understand that there is a very active gemstone market in Thailand, for these sorts of precious stones.

So, Is there anyone on this board , who could provide me with some information on how to market gemstones or put me in contact with someone with this information ?

I have dabbled in emeralds so have a bit of an idea. Which exact minerals are you talking about and in what sort of quantities? And, you do realize that there is an import duty assessed on their value in the local market, right?
