Current phone network promotions, what have you seen?

Featured Replies

The ones of us that live here all have a phone on one network or another.

For me AIS the mrs DTAC .

They all have promtions at various stores and to be honest I normally just see the sign and ask the mrs to tell what it is. But there are some pretty good ones out there.

A few that weve used over the last couple of months include..

DTAC - buy get one free for the cinema at Central.

AIS - discount on food at sizzler (offers vary often)

AIS Mc - as mentioned in another thread

AIS Mr. Donut - one free is buy 6

AIS Mr. Donut - pon de ring (?) 5 baht discount

DTAC - Free upsize on a meal

Theres a load more that weve used but would be interested to see if you guys have found a "good" one.

Free upsizing etc are ok , but so far the best one weve found is the free cinema ticket.

Not being a cheap charlie here but if its there in front of you and you only have to put a few numbers in your phone why not.

Anyone found any more ?

The why not part have to do with profiling. You'll also often 'agree' to receive promotional messages from the operators and their partners. If that's ok for you, then why not.

The next step is that when you walk to a shopping center, or walk next to McDonals, you'll receive an localized promotion.. or better yet, your family members will receive those "Hey kid, get your daddy to McDonals and receive free toy!". I'm not sure if that's done here, or even if it's legal to do.

The free movie ticket would be an offer I would take and sell my soul :)

Hi Oilinki,

Would normally agree with you but neither of us have received excess spam sms from the stores.

Ive kinda made the assumption its the telecom companies competing for customers by offering these promos.

Youll be surprised just how prevelant they are when you know they are there.

That's a good tip. I have never noticed any of those promotions.

Across the country , from what ive seen theres normally a sign in or very near the store explaining the promo.

Of course in Thai but normally pretty easy to figure out what it is.

At the foot of the promo will be a code which is generally * xxxxxxx *# to put into your phone.

I've never used them and I'm heartily sick of the spam.

Add one more to the list

Free coffee at Burger King with Any purchase ( includes the airports ) AIS

So this isn't really phuket related. Should be in general forum along with the big mac with egg thread.

The promotions are availiable across Thailand , however from experience they can be Region specific .

But hey im cool if the mods want to move to General Topics too :)
