Qatar Discount 25% , tempting but very restrictive

Ticket are non-endorsable, non-refundable and non-transferable and non-changable (except for itineraries originating from Brazil, Iran, Korea, and Qatar). Incase of no-show, ticket has no value for use on any other service, and it is non-refundable, non-changeable and non-bookable.

This make me hesitating non-changable , if you want too fly in say 4 months

Right you are.

I would never book a non-changeable ticket, couple that with the dreadfull busrides at Doha makes me stay away from QR for the time being.

And why book a ticket That costs 50% more (sometimes 100% more) to just get a 25% discount? Tell me the route ....and the cost ....if it beats the other airlines great!

BUT like here in THailand where I see 70% discounts on Ridiculously overpriced items in the FIRST place ....ITS STILL OVERPRICED!

This may come as a surprise to you, but there are people for who the price of a ticket is NOT the only deciding factor in buying with a specific airline.

Travel comfort both on board and on land, favourable departure and arrival times, frequent flyer programs etc. etc.

WOW .....Yemaneee ...Did I miss something....The post is talking about a 25% discount! THAT RELATES TO PRICE and nothing more! Don't see anywhere that he brings up your other factors....

Having said that....I agree ...having over a 1,000.000 lifetime miles on United, close to 500,000 on EVA and some on Delta......I personally take all those factors into account....BUT don't lecture to me about flying or especially this post when the WHOLE purpose of it is to promote some 25% discount ....

AGAIN ....I'll make my point in case you missed it....Don't really give a sh#t what the discount is ....what's the bottom line....PRICE and THEN I can weigh in all the other factors........GET a clue....whooooahcoffee1.gif

LOL....You would think wouldn't you....but the beachproperty I had was in the States ....I'm now living in Bangkok...and to be honest I AM more chilled....BUT....some of these TV posters just get to me though...Either they don't read the topic ....post some nonsense....but worse is when I respond "directly" to what the post is about...and someone pipes up that "I don't have a clue" ....and when I don't I admit it...but if I feel I'm right ....I see no reason to back down...Oh Well...sorry you had to see my rant!blink.png

Thanks for replies. I did decide against it, it would restrict my freedom of making changes.

But tell me which other airline flies to Frankfurt, 180 degree lie-flat seats not these slipping-down half recliner which most airlines still have. Turkish Air is said to be excellent, but from Istanbul on it´s 3 hours in more or less economy seats, plus much more expensive.

Might look again at Qatar which has until month end a special business full fare / partner free

requires also more planning

Air Berlin/ethiad business seats currently 1700 euro with 2 hour layover not too bad.

Not sure which airlines still have the angled flat beds ....but I agree they're worthless....SOOOOOO ...when EVA had them and I was flying EVA I did some thinking and always brought on an large triangle shaped backpack (to put at the base of the angled bed....THEN ...I also brought a air mattress (small one used in swimming pools) and blew that up and laid it on top....Everybody thought I was crazy, but I got to sleep like a baby on a soft flat bed (Stewardess's even thought it was creative)...Just have to get a bulk head seat for maximum effect.

Yes you did miss something. The post is talking about a 25 % discount on QATAR AIRWAYS which I happen to know is the preferred airline of OP for his personnal reasons.

Also the post's WHOLE purpose is not to promote some discount but expressing doubts about it.

Anyway thanks for the tip on the triangular backpack and air mattress but I think I will decline, I namely prefer real comfort provided.

I had a look at Emirates as well. They have a 4 day sale. Worked out 1500b cheaper AND you had the option to change for $75

Sent from my phone with the app thingy.
