The red shirts seemed to like the idea in 2010.

One of the things that the red shirts did in 2010 was to take their protests mobile, which caused major traffic problems.

Do you want to call that a lie?

Your average school kid is much smarter than your average redshirt, so if they did call out entire schools they wouldn't go.

Yingluck needs to understand that people are fed up with her lies. Apologizing and getting rid of some of her corrupt ministers would be a good start to ease the pressure.

Sadly, she will never understand that. The Shins are so used to lying and bullying to get their own way. So many false promises and so many obvious lies. They've gotten away with it for so long that they're not able to distinguish the truth anymore. She just can't understand why the people won't listen and do as their told anymore.

Bill is killed - no need to protest anymore. We have suspended the bill ....................... think about it Yingluck. What was your Masters degree in again ?

Maybe she should announce that Thailand get the hub of something and in 6 month everyone will be rich + there won't be any more floods + next year everyone gets an iPad.

that should do the trick for the next few month.

cheesy.gif cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif And you need a minister to tell you this,....cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

If he didn't say something prior to the event, select posters probably would take a similar jab for his not doing so.

You can't appease everyone since there is an endless supply of subject matter experts.

You people are hilarious. Wasn't the blocking of traffic 3 years ago Reason No.752 to hate the red shirts?

And now - with the 'all new traffic-friendly Yellow/Dem demo' - not only will traffic somehow not worsen but some genius has even posted that the overall traffic situation will improve because of the demo.

Unbelievable. But very amusing. smile.png:)smile.png Do carry on. I'm sure y'all will.

Get rid of her corrupt ministers!!

There wouldn't be anyone left.....nice idea though.

You must have detailed information about all the Ministers to say "there wouldn't be anyone left". Please share that with the rest of us. It should make a good read. ;)

I think it would be a darned sight easier and quicker if you could show me who the clean ones are!!

It should make a quick read.

You bet we will!!

Not so stupid as you think it is.

If for example all of the bus drivers were on strike in Bangkok and were busy blocking the roads with their presence - are you likely to see less or more buses on the road??

I assume you thought less - well 50,000 protesters with a large amount of them (in relatively affluent Bangkok) owning cars, protest by blocking the roads is the traffic going to be greater or less??

Bear in mind that people will move onto the trains to get to work, won't go shopping in those affected areas and avoid these particular roads - so less traffic or more??

I'm guessing that you want to think more but can't help thinking "actually it will be less"!!

I see it wasn't only in the last line of your post in which you were guessing. Your mixture of opinions and assumptions may be right, but then again may not be. The real question is, how persuasive is your argument? I'd give it 5/10 as I don't agree with all the assumptions you made. Some, but not all.

Anyway, what I'd really like to know is whether you were one of those people who added increased traffic congestion during the 2010 demo to your list of reasons to hate the red shirts. If so, I'd appreciate it if you could now use your imagination and assumptions to contrive a reason why red shirt demos lead to more traffic than dem/yellow shirt demos. This invitation also extends to any other interested poster, by the way. Thanks.

I like your 'c'mon attitude' but with such a weak case I think that you are in for a pasting.

As I live 750 Km South of Bangkok the traffic situation wasn't felt in my home town so no it has no bearing whatsoever on my dislike of the red shirts. I don't dislike them actually, I just cannot understand why they are so stupid and gullible and support someone to such an extent that they lay their lives down to please a multi-billionaire who has 'raped Thailand' of it's (their) wealth!!!??

"I'm guessing" is a figurative line of speech - maybe I should have put "realise" instead.

Last point, why did the red shirts demonstration create traffic chaos whereby these demonstrations don't necessarily have the same impact in this regard?? I would have thought it obvious, most of the red shirts came down from the North and surrounding areas as that's where all of the thicko's come from. The Bangkokians wanted to go to work and shopping as they were not involved in the demo's (more common sense) and mostly travel in their cars. The red shirts were stopping them from getting to where they wanted to go by blocking their way and so it created massive snarl ups!!

Somewhen in April 2010, red-shirt motorcades, lots of red flags, pickups, etc. I remember wearing a pink shirt sitting behind on a motorcy on Phetchaburi on my way to Chamchuri Sq. and getting 'slowed down' by traffic.

Mind you, we smiled at each other biggrin.png

Last night around 8:30 PM I got stuck on Sukhothai Rd near RamaV Rd.. Some roads in the area are blocked by police and at points traffic is diverted to keep people away from the protesters.

It's nice to see protesters and police working together to keep the traffic at bay rolleyes.gif

'Interior Ministry intelligence'

It's only 6am and we already have the winner for 'oxymoron of the day'.

It's only 6am and you're posting on Thai Visa? tuzki-bunny-emoticon-039.gif

So what? Are you now going to tell us that there is a rule banning people from posting before a given time?

Not at all. Me I'm cosy in bed at that time which I think I was illustrating. You're quite angry though aren't you?

Traffic today is oddly (ominously?) light. Even now at 6.30pm, Sukhumvit/Asoke is moving. Rare.

quote name="Robby nz" post="7040538" timestamp="1384483860"]

Was there earlier this week and went from Mo chit to Phloen chit on the BTS which was crowed as usual then back on the bus.

The traffic on the road looked to be lighter than usual.

Possibly because some were at protests and others left their cars at home anticipating bad traffic.

So possibly the protests could get some of the private cars off the road.

For some posting time is 8.30 to 17.00.

Well its 21.34 now and you were posting about 10 minutes ago so I really can't see what your point is?
