Try Phuket International hospital or he could have been taken to Vachira in Phuket town!

You may have to physically attend each hospital to get reliable information.

You could also call the ambulance station in that area. They may have trasported him to the hospital.

Who contacted his mother?

As mentioned before, try Bangkok Phuket Hospital, Phuket international hospital, Mission hospital and Vachira hospital (goverment main hospital in Phuket).

Tell the time and describe the type of the accident and possible (motorbike) in case he was not able to tell his name and did not have ID with him.

If not specifically indicated otherwise at the time of the accident, from that area Vachira is the most likely destination.

You might also try Rungwawee Mansion, right across the street from Vachira on Yaowarat Road (just north of main entrance, opposite side of the road.)

It's cheaper and you wouldn't have to deal with motorbikes and the risks/hassles involved.

If he has insurance, I would suggest to get him out of Vachira. If he can be transfered to Bangkok Phuket hospital would be a lot better, but much more expensive.

If he can be transfered to Bangkok, Siriraj Hospital would be the best and not expensive.

Most doctors at Wachira also work at these other hospitals. That hospital has improved tremendously over the past few years. As has the new orborjor hospital and other local health centers.

Anyway, your friend is in good hands, OP. Have a safe trip.

Yes, I like Bangkok Phuket or Phuket International (Siriroj) better, more comfortable, but I would not call them better hospitals. If he prefers more comfort and has insurance both hospitals are good options, if not medically necessary I see no reason at all to move somebody to Bangkok.

Yes, with the addition of Patong Hospital, Thalang Hospital and the 'new' OrBorTor hospital in Phuket Town.
