BANGKOK, 30 Nov 2013 (NNT) – Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has told foreign media that she is the one in charge of the government, not her brother, as she ruled out dissolution of parliament.

During a special interview with Cable News Network (CNN), Miss Yingluck told a CNN reporter that she wanted to be judged by her achievements, while urging the protesters to end their rally and seek out solutions through talks.

The Premier also denied allegation that claimed she was taking orders from her brother, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, as she assured the CNN that the Thai government was in her control.

Miss Yingluck also had an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). She told the BBC that there will not be an early election as the parliament will not be dissolved despite the ongoing protest.

She went on to say that the government would not authorize the use of force against those protesters seizing state offices.

Lastly, the Thai Premier said she loved this country as she would do whatever it took to protect the country's democracy.

Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has told foreign media that she is the one in charge of the government, not her brother, as she ruled out dissolution of parliament, because her brother told her to not to dissolve parliament because of the bad polls.

If Yingluck really wants to be judged by her achievements....

Then she really MUST GO!

All her 'achievements' as she puts it, are all well and truly in the negative and a threat to the entire nation and its economy.

Everything that is in the positive side of the balance sheet are all the achievements (as usual) of the 'Elite' The very people who are allegedly despised by Yingluck and all her voters.

Yingluck...... Stop trying to steal credit from the achievements of your sworn enemies.

"Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has told foreign media that she is the one in charge of the government..."

Being in charge of a bunch of lackeys is one thing. Now if she could find a way to be in charge of the economy, that would be an accomplishment. Talk is cheap, and her talk is getting cheaper every day....Just like the Baht.whistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gif

she wanted to be judged by her achievements

What achievements?

Flirting with Obama?

Increasing the size of her wardrobe?

Stirring up political turmoil?

Building up a huge debt due to the rice pledging scheme?

Increasing pollution because of all the new cars?

Probably forgotten a couple of things.

Please don't blame her, for she knew not what she did

BANGKOK, 30 Nov 2013 (NNT) – Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has told foreign media that she is the one in charge of the government, not her brother, as she ruled out dissolution of parliament.

During a special interview with Cable News Network (CNN), Miss Yingluck told a CNN reporter that she wanted to be judged by her achievements, while urging the protesters to end their rally and seek out solutions through talks.

I don't think she realizes that her achievements amount to furthering the economy to ruin.

The Premier also denied allegation that claimed she was taking orders from her brother, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, as she assured the CNN that the Thai government was in her control.

She has a point there she just dosen't bother to show up at cabinet meetings and he phones in to them just by passing her. The ministers all fly to Dubai and Hong Kong to check in with him

Miss Yingluck also had an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). She told the BBC that there will not be an early election as the parliament will not be dissolved despite the ongoing protest.

She went on to say that the government would not authorize the use of force against those protesters seizing state offices.

She omitted to say that the police are afraid to do their job and the army is for the people according to one of their leaders.

Lastly, the Thai Premier said she loved this country as she would do whatever it took to protect the country's democracy.

She figures that telling elected representatives how to vote irregardless of what their constituents want is democracy

What can she do? As long as Big Brother wants to nail Abhisit and Suthep on murder charges for ending the Red Siege of Bangkok he cannot order her to call in a heavy handed police swoop on the current protests. And the Army has once again shown that they do not fire on unarmed protesters, so no help from that side either.

I don't know HOW she told CNN and BBC that she's in control, certainly not in English!

I for one could not understand a word she was saying but I guess Kentucky University does not teach its students English.

Puts another perspective on how people get uni qualifications.

Money takks pehaps ? Oh how stupid I can be..

It's a point that seems to have been missed by almost all posters. The whole cause of the political unrest is one man's lack of respect for his fellow citizens and the rule of law, which combined with his colossal greed and ruthlessness has led us directly to this mess. The mess should never have been allowed to occur as his chose to hide some of his assets and was discovered should have ended his megalomaniacal rise, but due to his early erosion of checks and balances got away with it. The rest is history.

Any anger should be directed directly at Thaksin Shinawatra. It is because of him, and him only, that Yinglucks government is going to collapse. The blame that lands at Yingluck's feet is for not having had the fortitude to stand up to her brother, instead letting him make her look weak, ineffective and foolish every time he forced his underlings to fly abroad to recieve instructions and bow down and bob before him.

I'm afraid Thailand is a classic example of what happens when corruption and greed gets a firm foothold. Taksin got into power because he bought votes, and the people did not realise this at the time, they took the money and signed their life away. Now they pay the ultimate price.

Education holds the key, something which unfortunately is very lacking in this country. The standard must be raised, and if neccessary the country must seek help from outside. The notion that Thailand can stand alone and solve it's own problems is an illusion. I have witnessed first hand the gross misrepresentation of the facts, that every citizen of Thailand is entitled to seek the truth about their country, and embrace other cultures and ideology. Without this, you will indeed fester in your own belief that Thailand will truly fall by the hand of ignorance.

The difference between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' is so obvious, that it sticks out like a sore thumb. It is about time Thais themselves admit that this path is not the right one, that Thais deserve a better future for themselves, and for future generations to come.

Once you accept this, then you will make progress, if not, then the future for Thailand is indeed profoundly bleek.

She is control of the government, she loves this country and she will do whatever it takes to protect the country's democracy.

There's at least 2 lies there and arguably 3.

A pity they didn't take a quick poll of the journos to see how many believed her. I'd predict a landslide loss for the PM.
