Thai political protests turn violent, one dead

This is exactly what this grub Suthep is trying to do . He does not give a stuff if one of his sheep gets shot, just as long as he can get a dead body to use for his defense on the 20th. He has "upped the anti" hoping to get a dead body so that he can say that Yingluck is a murderer like himself and Abisit.

Well he's got that now, so you're implying that they can all go home and get on with life?

You're havin' a laugh...

Here is a video with a lot more credibility than half of the jumped up idiot red ass kisser BS on here at the moment.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=162834060593108

0.20 in the video man/woman or whatever it is... clearly heard shouting, get your red shirts off and put your black shirts on.

approx 1.40 can clearly be heard saying they have guns, don't bother with it. Intimating to the red shirts.

The video clearly starts with the red terrorists retreating to the safety of their police protectors towards the stadium, followed by students. Then shots are heard from the stadium end and the students flee back towards their end pursued by the gun wielding red maniacs.

In my mind it is clear. These reds are being paid to do this, the police will in the end conclude that the shots were fired by students.... blah blah blah.

I find it strange that when riots start there is always new members who come in support of the dems/yellows. It happened back in April 2010

She wont order the army to open fire on unarmed civilians killing 90 of them that is why Abhisit is seeing the courtrooms nothing more.

Really?? Do you think it might be because the protesters are not burning down the city and not occupying hospitals? You right, it might be hard to order to shoot at peaceful protesters . Though might be easier if say someone created some mess . Say-....... Gun shots, dead person

PEACEFUL ? try reading the title of this thread and try to keep up they are not peaceful but she still wont be giving the order to open fire.

I copied the thread title for you , where does it say that the aniti government protesters are the violent ones ? There are pictures on the forum from red shirts carrying a load of weapons, haven't seen one from an opposition protester holding a weapon.

does writing with capital letters mean you are yelling?

Btw, danish news report the police shot and killed one protester and wounded 3 others. I would not put too much trust in foreign news sources :-)

The bus that had the windows broken was a CITY bus with a few red shirts on it ... that may be only a semantic distinction but it is valid.

That there were 2 students attacked first by Reds kinda makes a world of difference though it does not excuse the students' behavior afterwards.

To lay this on the entire anti-govt side is specious at best and simply trolling at worst.

Strangely, your version of events, so clearly articulated, is contradicted by every reputable news service covering this story, local and international. You simply make it up as you go along.

More BS ...

Suthep as far as ANYONE knows has had no involvement with the RU student group.

He is not at risk on the 12th (not the 20th) as the charges cannot stick. They were deliberately placed against him as an individual and not as the holder of a political office. Since no somchai citizen can oder the military or anyone else to act .... the charges will be dropped. They cannot be transferred to the court that deals with political office holders.

The police need to come under intense criticism for these events today. They have shielded the heavily armed red militia, and done absolutely nothing to stop the running battles. They are one sided, biased and nothing more than an extension of Thaksin's iron fist.

It is the police and their one sided conduct that will eventually bring the army out to protect the people.... DO NOT underestimate the army.

Oh.. and you can now forget any celebrations on the 5th. That day will probably be marked with an ongoing civil war stirred up by Jutaporn and Thida.

I dearly hope they will be taken out for good.... call in the snipers. Are their any good vantage points overlooking the stadium?

The army will not turn out for a coup... they are in Thaksins pocket now. Your chosen side has assasinated many innocent people before...so a couple more what prick your conscience. Very vociferous for your first 2 posts. Surprised you have not posted before...

Sorry Prbkk, you are again incorrect. The rector of the uni's statement was posted on Thai Rath newspaper online BEFORE things kicked off. AFAIK it is OK to post a link to that paper but it is in Thai. http://www.thairath.co.th/content/pol/386323

The Bus is in a video and is clearly a city bus.

I read multiple news sources in both Thai and Eng .. and posted about the Thairath article in the Jatuporn thread before the students retaliated.

so if I'm reading this thread correctly and all the information provided is near enough correct -

some anti government protestors attacked a bus transporting redshirts with stones and whatnot then the redshirts opened fire with lethal weapons in retaliation and shot some young guy dead

but the redshirts don't carry weapons and didn't shoot at police and army in 2010........right

so who is the DSI going to charge with this murder ?

I am quite sure Tarit from the DSI is charging Abhisit as we speak :-)

Yes, but the argument could be made that the murder happened on her watch, attributed to her politically affiliated comrades... They've all be on stage tonight...

Would it stick? Probably about as well as the pending charges for Abhisit and Suthep...

As head of the government Abhisit gave the orders to allow the army to have 'live fire zones' and snipers and shoot to kill. Or did the army take instruction from an invisible hand..you cant be that clueless

Too long at sea? This has nothing to do with Suthep's court case, which should be obvious. And don't be so quick to apportion blame. I expect we'll never find out who fired the shots.

Do you guys not realize how juvenile all of these he started stuff is? Get out of the streets. Anyone with an ounce if common sense knows where this is going when you hit the streets and start taking over buildings, government agencies and interfering with utilities. Red, yellow, black or white, thug, no thug makes no difference.

There can never be resolution when the focus remains on blame.

Oh, and the police are supposed to side with who is in control of the government so stop whining about that being unfair.

I am trying to keep up with developments as my wife is in Thailand with her family from Russia at the moment, but there is 25 he started it posts for each informative posts about facts and developments.

Oooh - the same reputable international news services reporting that today is the 6th day of protest? International media mark last Sunday as the start of the anti-government protest, whereas every resident of Thailand knows that it's already in it's 2nd month. So if you base your argument on "reputable news service" you are of the opinion that protests started 6 days ago? Please respond with a clear YES or NO

YOU ANTI THAKSIN supporters have to admit now that the agressors are the demonstrators YOU cant blame the red shirts for this since its clear they were the ones attacked and if it turns out they shot the kid dead then it was obviosuly in self defense while being attacked by a MOB. there is also a video just posted of these so called peaceful protesters attacking a taxi and the driver

figured I would post the video to show who the aggressors are

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-chbv56ZvPE#t=0

Come on Yingluck stop pussyfooting with these scumbags and enforce the law

Shall we compare track records of the reds and yellows re: mindless violence, chucking buckets of human blood over buildings ( that was soooo gross ) inciting crowds to burn Bangkok, invading hospitals...... you feel ok with that?

Surely isn't that because the yellows grabbed power from the reds who at the time had just won an election and now the same thing is happening all over again.bah.gif

Nothing very democratic about that

yesterday a yellow spokesman exclaimed the PTP was a " dictatorship by majority " give me a break-giggle.gif

I see you have absolutely zero knowledge of the history of this sorry saga. Its so easy to get the facts these days as well!

Well Jim, its obvious that you don't like the facts. Your preferred mob, and thats what they are "A Mob" cannot win an election so therefore are not entitled to govern Thailand, they are NOT wanted by the majority. They are just trouble makers. They should shut up, go home, stop making trouble and wait for the next elections to see if they are a majority, or just the same "Unwanted mob" that cannot win anything without causing death and disorder. Just <deleted> go home and shut up. Let the preferred party get on with running Thailand instead of having to pull you gang of brainless schoolchildren like idiots into line.

What a joke! You are an ugly joke!

you are talking about ignorance? Are you sure, these yellow thugs are not the one from deep south.

Oh let me guess, you know all of them, and you certify they are all nice budhist?

These hired people just try to provoke one more coup, and they dare to call themself "democrat party"

These yellow terrorist just try to bring down a legitimate government. You dont like it, well you have to live with it,

till the next election that you gonna lose again!

I despise the red shirt as much i truelly hate these yellow terrorist.

You clearly have a lack of knowledge on the area, hence resorting to pretty embarrassing name calling. I am genuinely really cut up that you think I am an ugly joke.

Many protestors have travelled from Surat, Trang, Krabi, Phuket and many more provinces, protests have occurred on a daily basis in these regions, with very little in three regions that you alluded to (the only one I am aware of was very peaceful and in Yala yesterday). You'll notice that multiple calls to prayer have not so far been a feature of the Democrat protests, and the intimation that there is a secretive allegiance between middle class thais, the Bangkok elite, the students, and Muslim separatists is pretty ridiculous.

If you're going to make an argument, please bring some facts to the table to back up your claim. You're the person making the accusation, the idea either came from inside your mind, or from some factual evidence. If you're going to go around making wild claims then it is your responsibility to explain and justify how you came to believe in the claim, it is not the responsibility of others to prove otherwise. You either made it up, or you have some supporting evidence - so which is it?

maybe alzheimer but you have a short memory, so here some facts:

Your yellow terrorist did lose 5 times the power.

And the last 4 times, Your thugs always try to take it back throught army coup, violence, silly claims and terrorism.

In 2006 Thaksin was ousted. The junta while in power rised by hundred percent their budgetthumbsup.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19> well done,

and ratified an amnesty for their coupthumbsup.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19> well done

2007 because of world pressure, the junta have to give back the power. And what a surprise YOU LOSE again!xlaugh.png.pagespeed.ic.W9oTakjBs5.webp alt=laugh.png width=20 height=20>

Samak was elected and few month later impeached because of a silly TV showthumbsup.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19> , well done yellow loser.

2008 Your hired yellow terrorist did invade an airport for a weeks. The funny part was they were paid to do so!

The brother in law of TS, get the power and lose it quickly.

Of course Newin, get an offer that he can not refusethumbsup.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19> otherwise babyface Abhisit and his pom pom boy will never get the job!

AND

2010, what started like a peaceful demonstration from the red shirt was violently put down. Thousand of injuried people, hundred of deaths.

You might disagree with their opinion, you might hate them.... But at the end, you didnt have any other choice to just kill themthumbsup.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19> well done yellow loser.

AND AND AND

i remember when a new election was called again, you yellow &@#### on this forum claimed that no way the red shirt will take the power this time.

How delusional you are. AND guess what???? YOU LOSE AGAINxlaugh.png.pagespeed.ic.W9oTakjBs5.webp alt=laugh.png width=20 height=20> do you get it?

So what about your previous msg, with all your blablabla.

Ii know for a fact we can not trust loser, anarchist, terrorist, killer.

To get back the power the only choice you have is to hire yellow thugs from south thailand, and i will not be surprised the most violent one

and whatever they are muslim or budhist, at the end they are real terrorist!

Hate it or like it, the actual governement is totally legitimate, and your yellow thugs have no right to over throw them out!

ps: i am not even a red shirtxlaugh.png.pagespeed.ic.W9oTakjBs5.webp alt=laugh.png width=20 height=20>

Just a goose!

Well if Sooty and Sweep did not give the orders who did. The army answers to the government of the day. The government gives the ok after consulting with army chiefs before any action is taken. That government was run by Abhisit and Suthep in charge of the CRES

Now is the time for the anti-government protesters to end their protest. Now is the time for a peaceful end-game and withdrawal. It would not be a loss nor a loss of face.

They have done well, they made their point and have been heard. But, the only reason they have done well is because they have been peaceful. They need to understand and accept that the PM is not going to resign (nor should she). Things are starting to get worse - nobody wants that. If everyone persists in heading down the path of escalating violence, the government (any government) has no choice but to intervene.

Does anyone really want to go back to April-May, 2010? Has no one learned where the line is and how to step back from it? Does anyone want more dead Thais in the streets again?

For the good of the situation and for the good that the protests did accomplish, they must now step back and accept this.

jawnie ---

though I understand your sentiments they do not reflect reality in Thailand.

The overall anti-government movement will be stained by today;s events, however there is no way that the anti-gov't official alliance will get the heat for the actions of the reds at the stadium and the students that live and go to school next door to it. The RU group is not part of that alliance.

The government must have the backing of the military and the oath of the military is to the monarchy and to the nation. Not to the government -- but to the people.

I do not want to sound callous but what I am about to say will sound callous eve to my ears. The one death of a person from Burma and the injury to others is less than happens in Tak on a Saturday night. The "rioting" by the RU students is less than happens regularly from technical college students. The use of war weapons (if the 4+ explosions around Ram were indeed m-79 grenades) might bring the army out if it is clear who fired them. Right now it points at the reds which would suggest that the army may not support the government due to its ties to the reds.
