School For Kids With Special Learning Needs

Featured Replies

Hi

My 4 year old son is having problems with his language development. His first language is English.

It's been recommended that we take him to a school that can help in this area after which he'll be able to return to the regular school system.

Does anyone know of a suitable place in Pattaya or a suitably qualified tutor ?

Cheers

Interested in this as well. My 7 year old daughter is highly Dyslexic. Here in England she has special help at her school and I also pay for extra tuition from a specialist in teaching Dyslexic children. She is coming along well now but I am worried because we are moving to Pattaya soon. She will be attending the "Best" school but does anyone know if there are any specialist Tutors who can help with her studies. Her only language at the moment is English.

I have 3 suggestions.

1. Search the web for Pattaya schools. You will find a lot of stuff - I did when I was looking for a school for my son.

2. Try to make contact with farang teachers in Pattaya - there are loads - teaching at the inter, bi-lingual and Thai schools. If there are any special schoolshere they would probably know. Maybe members with kids in school could enquire at their schoos for you?

3. Post your enquiry in the "Teaching in Thailand" forum. There are a lot of teachers in this forum - some very knowledgable.

Good luck :o
