Taking an infant to Laos requirements

Featured Replies

Hey all

I am planning to travel to Laos with my wife and 15 month infant (on his Thai passport) at Nong Khai tomorrow. A friend just told me that immigration require a birth certificate for the infant to enter Laos. Can anyone confirm any truth in this? If so, will a copy (fax) do?

Many Thanks

Gordon

A passport should be all that is needed.

The birth certificate would only be needed for a border pass.

"Should" being the operative word....

If the original B/C is handy, why not take it along, just in case. It's got parent's names, shows that this is not a trafficking case.
