webfact
POLITICSRed shirts vow to keep "Bangkok open"The NationBANGKOK: -- Red shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan on Thursday announced a new campaign to keep Bangkok open on January 13 to counter the campaign by the anti-government protesters to shut down the capital.Jatuporn said at the press conference that the time had come for people, red shirt protesters among them, to stand up and fight against what he called the elite's network, which planned to mobilise southerners to oust the elected government."We are ready. If we lose democracy, we don't know what will happen. This month is the month of 'make or break'. Please wait for a signal from us. We will fight under peaceful principles," he said.He also asked other provinces to stage overture rallies starting from January 5, the same date as antigovernment protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has called for an overture before laying siege to Bangkok on January 13.Further details will be announced later, he said.-- The Nation 2014-01-02

Popular Post smutcakes
Really the UDD/Red Shirts should just keep quiet, if they do come out, it will inevitably play into the oppositions hands as no doubt there will be clashes, deaths and inevitably it will lead to a Coup. At the moment, they unbelievably in the eyes of many around the world sort of have the moral high ground. Without people knowing all the history, on the face of it, it seems that their democratically elected Government is trying to be overthrown by some loony talking about People's Councils.

Popular Post NF1000
Here comes the civil war that most red supporters have been craving. Then here comes the army to make sure it doesn't happen. Jatuporrn needs locked up for the safety of Thai people. I though Suthep was a loose cannon, but this guy? I knew jatuporn would not be able to resist a war. The guy is out on bail with conditions not to incite any public confrontation and here he is publicly leading an army intent on murder and destruction. Well, we will see how it pans out this time, if anything can bring 10 million anti- government protesters to BKK, this can.

Popular Post EricBerg
"We will fight under peaceful principles". I don't think there will be many reds coming to BKK. The missunderstood fugitive will not pay for tens of thousands to come to BKK. Perhaps he'll only pay a few dozen Cambodians for some shooting and torching. He will not go down without bloodshed.

Thank Suthep for any violence Absolutely, leats all blame Suthep when Jatuporn raises the stakes with a counter protest, a different tune from when they abandoned the stadium for fear of confrontation! bring out the red army Thaksins last hope or see the country in ruins. And you think PTP are playing by the rules! But don't let me spoil your reality, even if its on another planet! taony
Just these guys physically coming into Bangkok is going to go farther towards shutting down things than to keeping it open simply due to the poor infrastructure.

Stay on the sideline and just watch the more than 15 million votes, they cast in the last election be voided by a rightwing loony?? Yes I would, just let it take its course, all it is doing is pushing more and more votes to TS parties. Every time one of his parties gets umm removed by unconventional means, it simply pushes more and more people towards him and gives more and more credence to their stuff about elites, military, not democratic etc etc If power is taken away from them again away from the ballot box then when/if it is returned to a vote, unless the intermediary has completely amended the voting somehow they will win by increasing margins. Obviously there is no way the military/Dems once they have wrestled power away this time will return to an election until they are 100% sure that a TS party cannot win. Actually this time they will go the whole hog and probably eliminate the whole family from politics which would be no bad thing. (There are many others who should also be told to stay away from politics) After which the pesky 15 year problem of TS will of been seen off and making changes to stop corruption etc can be forgotten about, and the old power families and military can re-position at the trough which they have been extremely unhappy in sharing for the past decade.

I think you'll be fine coming here then. I doubt that Thailand will be 'saturated' in civil war. In fact, I think this will ba done by end of Feb. Now, after Feb there will be a limited time for rhe peacemakers to finally bring all sides together and so something that stops them listening to the hatemongers on both sides. Trick but not impossible Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand I think the only thing possible is the army to come out and preemptively stop it from happening. The red shirts would be silly to come down with potentially millions waiting for them. I foresee many getting hurt if they do try it, that will send waves across the country (up north) to take the advantage by attacking those of being considered supporters of Suthep in their own back yards where they have strength. That will then be a very hard job for the army to control, even if they invoke martial law.
