I regularly, often daily, download from TorrentDay, and it's been very reliable.

Just now, I noticed that several torrents I'm seeding to it from uTorrent, have red arrows and indicate that the announce has timed out.

I can't connect to their web page, either, as the message I get is that the server isn't responding.

However, when I check on Down for Everyone or Just Me, it seems it's just me!

Everything was smooth when I left the computer a couple of hours ago, and now I discover that for some reason, I'm the only one having the problem?

Anyone have an idea how this happens, or what it is that happens? I'm not in panic mode - yet - but would like to at least understand the situation.

There are some DNS problems with eztv as mentioned elsewhere so maybe the same is happening with TorrentDay. Try rebooting your computer and restart the program, sometimes helps.

Could be. TorrentDay went through some problems a while back, and TVChaosUK is just coming out from a major DDoS attack. Could be that TD is getting the same, although strange that Down for Everyone of Just Me suggests it's just me.

And I've got other file seeding to different trackers without any problem.

Just connected to EZTV a moment ago, so seems they've resolved their problems. Guess I'll just have to wait a while before heading into panic mode.

DNS is usually the most prevalent problem people have getting to sites. There can be many servers and routers that pass the request from your machine to often the root servers, then back to you.

Since site IP addresses seldom change, if your system will allow, use the IP address of the TorrentDay. While the system usually caches IP addresses, it might not. And you might find the data flow is quicker.

Now if TD changes their IP address, you'll have errors and you'll have to verify the ip address and reset it. DNS does this for you, but it seems that DNS from the ISPs is often not working correctly.

It would be better to use an open DNS source, but latency of DNS response can be a factor for data flow.

If you are a real geek, building a DNS cache server would be a great thing.
