Police Check/certificate Of Good Conduct Help!

Featured Replies

My partner is thai, after applying for a police report we found he still has a record from 12 years ago he was involved in a fight in pattaya(minor) and was arrested, he paid bail and never recived a summons. The police will not issue him a report unless they have the absolute outcome of the case. We have tryed it all! been to pattaya several times all they will tell us is that the case has expired and they dont know the outcome, they sent a letter stating this to bangkok office but they still refused to give a report or a copy of the letter from pattaya. we have been to the courts to find any record of the case ever going to trial, there isnt any, we have paid sums of money to several people who claim they know the right people, they dont. Any advice on what to do????? Its for our partnership to go back to Australia.

homesick aussie chick

Being of suspicious mind me thinks the Bangkok office is not playing ball, does a bail receipt or notice exist, just a thought. It is often the case that knowing the right people or topping up the bisuit tin can resolve matters as neither have been of assistance then it's a different ball game. I would advice you contact a Lawyer for as far as i know it remains an open case and not an expired one has stated in bangkok. What advice was given if any by both the Court and/or police officials.

The only advise they could give us was to change his name and get a report on his new name or don't go! very helpful. Unfortunatley we have no contact with the lady who paid bail. Do you know a reputable lawyer?? thanks :o

It comes across that they are in a hole and they want your partner to dig them out at his expence, hence the name change. The reason i advice the use of a lawyer apart from the obvious is that of time, for he can in person aply to the courts for judgement but this could drag on and on, although he could call bluff and put this forward, he may well get a more positive answer. PM me regards lawyer if still required.
