Could you please advise me how to change the password on a True ZyXEL P660HN-T1A Router?

My daughter, in an act of benevolence gave someone in her building her password and it seems that numerous people have it and are using it 24/7.

How do we change the password?

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

True is usually setup with a normal password and user name a user is usually admin and password could be empty or password itself. Access should be through 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 once you have accessed you should be able to go to wireless setup and change the access password for the wireless network.

I guess you are referring to default router addresses. I am not much good at this stuff and will have to refer to the Internet but I will give it a go.

Both the username and the original password (on a sticker on the wiFi router) are a combination of letters and numbers.

Many thanks.

You must first use a web browser to access the configuration page of the web browser, entering the Username/Password so you can see the settings page. Username is always "admin" and the Password is what was entered when it was configured for you. The default was "1234", but this should have been changed at time of installation/setup.

Once you have successfully accessed the router configuration page, Click Network > Wireless LAN to display the AP screen. Under "Common Setup", enter a new WiFi password in the field labeled Pre-Shared Key.

Note: this router can show multiple SSIDs (WiFi AP names), so be sure to also look in the Network > Wireless LAN > More AP tab and modify (or create) any additional Active SSID entries as required.

And if you get in to the router, use MAC filtering to only allow your devices to access the network.

Don't forget to add any wired MAC address, especially the one you use to program the router.
