AOT Transport info re: BKK Shutdown & Temp. Shuttle Bus to BTS On Nut station

One of the wonderful Thai govt agency quirks where this came on my Line account tonight but the link to the AOT website only has the info summarised in Thai.

This may be useful for some but check the AOT website for updates/changes.

Of interest is that there is a new TEMPORARY shuttle bus from Door 3 , Lvl 1 to BTS On Nut station via the ARL Lat Krabang station - see point 6.

No info on how regular that is and who knows how long that will last......it may actually be slower than taking the ARL to the BTS.

Some useful numbers:

Suvarnabhumi Airport has a Passenger Facilitation Plan to help passengers travel to and from the airport during the political protest in Bangkok.

Mrs. Rawewan Netarakavesana, the General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, said “Suvarnabhumi Airport would like to advise passengers to prepare to travel to the airport 4 hours in advance of flight departure time during the ongoing political protest in Bangkok. Also, we would recommend the usage of the Airport Rail Link to connect with the BTS SkyTrain and MRT Metro as the most convenient mode of transport to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Furthermore, we have a Passenger Facilitation Plan in place to help passengers travelling to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport, including the changing of travelling route for the Shuttle Bus service between Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International airports, coordinating with the airport’s public transportation providers to have a contingency plan in case of passengers being unable to travel to and from specific areas in Bangkok where there are political protests, etc. Suvarnabhumi Airport will deploy airport personnel and information boards to advise passengers on how to travel from the airport. Also, to instruct taxi and limousine drivers to drop off / pick up passengers at the nearest point possible.”

Mrs. Rawewan added “Suvarnabhumi Airport has made its Long Term Parking area (Zones B, C, D, E and F) available as a public car park, with shuttle bus service to the Passenger Terminal Building (1st floor) for those wishing to travel in and out of Bangkok via Airport Rail Link or take the (Special) Airport Shuttle Bus Service from Entrance 3, 1st floor of the Passenger Terminal to Ladkrabang Railway Station and BTS SkyTrain On-Nut Station. This service is available free of charge, starting from the 10th January 2014 (until further notice).”

Mrs. Rawewan concluded “for the convenience of our passengers, we have set up an Airport Operation Center (AOPC) to coordinate with all organizations and agencies within the airport, for example, public bureaus, state agencies and airlines. The Center will be opened 24 hours daily, with various airport personnel available at all times to assist and facilitate passenger affected by the current political situation as promptly as possible. The Center is situated behind check-in counter row R, Departure Hall, 4th floor of the Passenger Terminal. For further information, please contact Tel. No.: +66-2132-9950, Fax No.: +66-2132-9951.

Also, a Passenger Assistance Center (PAC) to facilitate arrival passengers who may experience problem(s) with their travel plans into Bangkok due to the political protest. The PAC will be opened 24-hours daily, will consist of airport personnel and representatives from agencies, such as, the Association of Thai Travel Agent (ATTA), Thai Hotels Association, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), etc. and will situate between Entrances 7 and 8, Arrival Hall, 2nd floor of the Passenger Terminal. For further information, please contact Tel. No.: +66-2139-9996 to 7, Fax No.: +66-2139-9998.”

In addition, passengers can find out information to help with their travels from AOT Information Counter available throughout the Passenger Terminal, Tel. No.: +66-2132-1882 or call Contact Center 1722.
