do i need a visa to stay one night in Yangon ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking for the easiest way to fly in and out of thailand next week so as to receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp when I enter Bangkok.

Do I need a visa to enter Yangon for one night ? flights to there and back appear fairly reasonable ..

or does anyone have a better suggestion ..

I do have a return to australia for february which I may need to show.

Thanks to all for any sound advice.

You need a visa for Myanmar. See Myanmar Visas for info.

You do not need to stay overnight to get another exempt entry. You can fly out and back on the same day if you want.

hi ubonjoe,

so i could fly there in the morning and return same day and just get the 30 day entry. Yangon flight seems cheap enough.

thanks.

No problem to fly out in the morning and back in the afternoon but you would still need to get a visa for Myanmar.

Have you checked Air Asia for flighta to KL. There is no visa needed for there.

ok ... i see what you mean. I'll check KL then.

Unless you have a specific interest in Myanmar, I would recommend you fly to Vietnam, or Kuala Lumpur. Better "everything" and the latter doesn't even requires a visa.
