Are you planning to marry your love, and take her to Norway?

Many choose to marry in Thailand, for a quick and easy visa proccess in Norway. The risk with this is that your girl hates it here, far away from her friends and the sunny beaches, ending with her packing her bags heading back to Thailand before you know it.

IMO the better option is to apply for a month fiance visa, this gives you both the oportunity to live together in this cold place, and see if this is the right thing to do.

If you choose to marry and apply for family immigration vica within 5 months, she gets to stay in Norway awaiting the application being proccesed.

Norwegians can find information here:

Thais should check out this 'do it yourself' guides written in Thai

Yes that may be true.. I'm not familiar with the UK criterias but I guess it will be similar.

My wife did all translations by her self and had them confirmed and stamped in the proper office.. she then made this guide...

Funny thing is that after living in Norway 1,5 year, we still have to apply tourist visa for her to visit the UK as her visa only applies to schengen countries :)

She like to stay indoors :) Had to push on the importance of warm clothes.. she arrived in September with summer dress and open shoes lol.

Now she have 3 hour Norwegian learning every day, but it's not so easy to get job, so I'm impressed by her ability to not get to bored (at least she don't show it)

As they say in Norway...no such thing as feeling cold just not enough clothes!

Do wives have to do the language test for Norway?

Posted

Yes they get free Norwegian lessons, and if they want permanent visa they have to pass level 3 in language test and also attend 50 hours social studies

But first she must renew the temporary visa every year for 3 years (5 years after new government came to power last year)
