If you think you may have dengue, do not take aspirin or ibuprofen

Featured Replies

I know there are several threads running, but they getting a bit lengthly and this tidbit of important info may not be seen .

Just want to inform anyone who may feel they have dengue to not take aspirin as it thins the blood The same for ibuprofen.

For aches and fever, you want to take Tylenol which also sold in Thailand as Paracetamol.

If you are at risk for hemorrhaging dengue, the aspirin or ibuprofen may complicate matters.

And reading some of the threads it seem many after recovering from dengue have symptoms similiar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, including low temperature. I have found from my own experience that vitamin A, about 25,000 units a day virtually wiped these symptoms out.

( I'm going off topic here I know, but in my own experience, re CFS symptoms, try to stop using aluminum based anti perspirants and deoderants, and that goes for crystal types too. )

I had a hospital tell me once, though I had many symptoms including hemorrhaging, that I did not have Dengue as my fever was not consistent or high enough, but varying fever gradients, that comes and goes- can be dengue.

The symptoms, and severity simply vary too much person to person for then to use this as a guide , only a blood test will say for sure .
