Ants
Just a quick one,,, Mine and my girlfriends car was stolen from her house in buriram 3 months ago,, We reported it the following morning to the local plod. It went quiet for about a month with no sign of our car. 4 days ago she received a call from someone in the kap choeng district, which is where you can make your passport on the Cambodian border. The person said that they have our car and will release it for 300,000 baht,, We contacted the local plod again with the information. We received a call from plod again, saying that there was nothing he could do as these people were an organised gang and that if I want my car back I should pay the 300,000 baht. Anyone got any other ideas,, That area isn't very big,and I think the car would be easy to find. My girlfriend doesn't want me to go as she fears I'll get myself into more trouble,,, Should I just say bye bye to my brum brum??? Ants
They are not being helpful at all,, It feels like they are pointing the finger at us for getting it stolen,, I payed about 30,000 for the year and they are sort of saying it doesn't cover theft. We did a lot of our own investigation work by sticking a picture of the vehicle on Facebook, with many spots around chok chai and surin,,, We told the insurers about what the police have said about paying the 300,000, And the insurers agree it's the best idea to get our car back,,,, Grrrrr Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Popular Post manarak
Find a police officer who will go with you off duty for 5000 baht. Show him the original car papers before and then take a copy with you and the cop. Find the car, use your key, and drive home with the officer. End of.

Thai at Heart is insinuating that the car was not stolen. More like reposessed to pay back a debt. Perhaps a debt incurred by the owner of the car, or some family/relation thereof? Something does smell about this, so I can see why some of us would consider this a possibility. Edit: Ah, and I see he just posted to that effect while I wrote this. Popular Post krisb
Some of these situations you lot get yourselves into that I read on here are just mental. Why would you get insurance on a car that doesn't cover theft? Police to afraid to help? The whole story sounds like either bs or your being taken for a sucker.
