Hi, My partner is a PR and we are in the process of applying for a sponsored family visa so that her Mum can come and visit us.

Does my partner need to resubmit her identity documents again or as they have already been submitted are they not necessary?

I made the mistake of not taking certified copies of the translated documents on the previous applications (I've kept everything else!)

Documents i'm referring to are: -

- Family Book X 1

- Birth Certificate X 1

- A single page document from Amphur stating that her mother's name was misspelled on my partners birth certificate.

My thought process is seeing as though all these have been submitted previously, wouldn't immigration only require her mothers identity documents?

Just trying to avoid $100-$200 in translation fees.

It's a new application so she will need to provide all requested documents.

AFAIK, your partner only has to provide a certified copy of her passport, her

PR and evidence of the relationship to her mother.

So she will really only need either a copy of the birth certificate with the amendments

or the family book.

The rest she will already have.

Thanks for the reply Will27, you are correct with the documents that are required.

My issue is that

1. My partner has has had her first name changed since birth and has a accompanying document to verify.

2. My partner's mother's name is misspelled on her birth certificate and has a accompanying document to verify.

All 4 documents have been previously copied, certified and translated for the previous visa's and because immigration didn't return them i now have to get them all translated again!

I just thought that we would only have to submit her mothers identification documents as the rest would be on file @immigration?

Sounds too logical I know, anyhow I better get cracking as with the 4-6 week super fast processing time we don't have long before our trip in March!

Cheers,
