Found something interesting. Most Australians and kiwis know that travelling to OZ you can just use the electronic smart gates and whiz through immigration.

Turns out that UK e-passport holders are now eligible to use it and some US passport holders who are members of the trusted global traveller scheme can use the Australian smart gates.

I wonder whether this will be reciprocal at some point?

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) began a trial on Thursday, 25 July 2013 to open SmartGate to eligible UK citizens arriving at Sydney and Adelaide airports.

Funny, it was only rolled out fully in September last year. Sure you aren't thinking of something else?
