Go Daddy = Web Domain, site and online sales package

I have been toying with investing at Go Daddy to initiate and secure a new online business.

Site looks easy to use and comprehensive and costs seem fair.

Does anyone have experience of using this site and its features or are there better sites to use if the products I wish to promote and sell are made and shipped from Thailand?

Stay away from godaddy. It is the worst name registrar ever.

I switched to name.com some time ago.

I agree with above. I still have some domains with them.

Godaddy is ok until the point you face a problem. It's an nightmare to deal with their customer support services.

Ok Name.com seems reasonable and has the domain names I require.
How about a nice looking website builder with online sales capability. Any suggestions?

You should find a hosting with website builder, not try to buy all from domain registrar

Before you engage any website builder, do some research and learn some of the various pitfalls you'll need to be aware of. Some builders take control of your domain name or offer non-transferable websites. There are many such related issues so you need to be able to read and understand the user agreements BEFORE you sign up...not later when you encounter a critical issue. User agreements are boring and time consuming to read but in this type of situation, understanding them is essential.

As dddave writes, it's vary important to do research and, if possible, find an e-commerce forum and see what issues other people have faced when using some of the services you're thinking of using.

Besides the domain name issue that dddave brought up, there's also payment gateways, processing fees, refunds and returns, chargebacks and outright fraud/theft, https security certificates, site/host security, customer data security, site backup/restore responsibility, software version upgrades, security patches, custom software mods, patch issues with software mods, software limitations (number of active items, shipping options, ... the list can go on and on and on).
