Non-Spicy Thai Recipes

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Surprised there doesn't appear to be a dedicated FOOD thread as I've found that, apart from sex, sport and (sometimes) politics, there are few topics that bind us closer than discussions revolving around food.

Food we love, food we've tried, food we miss etc., etc.

Personally, I like spicy.

My lady survives on nothing but spicy.

She's a great cook (As am I, or so I'm told).

But not all our friends like spicy food.

Lots of Indian and Pakistani food is not spicy but all Thai food seems to lean in the spicy direction.

Anyone got recipes for non-spicy Thai food (preferably not involving too much blinkin' pineapple and/or coconut, although a little of either is OK).

Thanks in advance.

Stuffed cucumber soup.

Peel your cucumber and cut into 2cm slices. Use a vege peeler to core out the seeds. Make a mixture of minced pork, garlic and nam man hoi. Stuff the mince mixture into the slices of cucumber. Place in a pot of water with a knoor pork stock cube and cook till the fruit is soft. Garnish with corriander. Delish.

Another non-spicy dish is kaa moo. Google the recipe.

Larb without chillies works ok.

there is a whole forum for food.

Thanks.

Really helpful.

What is posted speaks volumes of the poster.

Huh?

You asked and he replied. What more do you want?

I don't see how you could not take ANY Thai recipe and reduce the amount of chilli.

Do you really need us to edit each recipe for you?

its the chilli seeds that do the damage, remove the seeds and some of the chilli and it will be fine. Living in the south the curries are too hot by miles for me but if the seeds and some of the chilli content are removed its makes a big difference

Just use ANY Thai recipe and remove the Chilli content, that provides the "heat" not necessarily flavor.

Thai food forum is here.....

Cheers, Charlie.

Great to receive a simple answer and some assistance without any smart-arsed comment from the usual jaded bunch on here.

Nice 1 (hope I can return the favour, sometime).

Removed a couple of non warranted replies. To the OP, you were given answers & location of food forum, please do not abuse people trying to help you.

A link, such as Charlie provided, would have been a friendly gesture.
